The goalposts and failing to score on the 4 min PP were the difference in the game. If they score on just one of those, Dallas very likely wins.

Can someone please stop this nightmare.

People were downplaying that they are deep and make up for loss of Hintz. Not having Roope is a big hit especially against E=NG.

How long is Hintz expected to be out?

Dallas lost game 1 against Vegas and Colorado. Everything is going according to plans

I really need this kind of news. I'm not sure I can manage the Oilers in the finals let alone actually winning the cup.

Meh.
Almost every team that has had a few days off between series has been losing game 1, and Dallas very nearly won the game. This was a game that was there for the taking for the Oilers and really it is a bit underwhelming when you consider the fact that Dallas rightfully should have been a bit rusty compared to the Oilers who just ended a series two days earlier.
I know the Stars have another gear from watching them enough this year and that if they get Hintz back for Game 2 will be an entirely different animal. Don't give the Oilers too much credit from a game 1 performance that was pretty middle of the road.

Yes. If they score on the PP in overtime they win.

Lol, I forgot that was in OT. Kept thinking it was in the 3rd.
Anyway, if Dallas can wake up and get their s*** together for game 2, I still think they'll win the series in 5 or 6.

Just the thought of the Oilers in the final makes me sick. Tkachuk and Bennett would be our last line of defence. Can they prevent the apocalypse? I think they can.

Social media makes it that much worse. It's basically impossible to ignore Oilers based posts. They make me want to vomit.

I do think the next game's result is likely predictive of the series. But that's just my gut.
If Dallas gets on their horse and evens it, then gets on the road where they play their best hockey it's not hard to see why they'd come storming back to take it.

I don't even want to think about it. Hintz needs to come back and set up the stars depth again. 1 guy out like that messes with the lines and makes the 3rd and 4th lines look good but not great.
Also, I get the Oilers PP is amazing but the PK is killing me. It's not this good, Stars needs to score a couple on the PP next game to maybe the Oilers pk with be a bit less confident.

I did feel like the Oilers would steal game 1. Not sure they actually stole it though.
Dallas looked toast in round 1 to the champs and came back and won 4 of the next 6 games.
They lost all momentum to Colorado in game 1 and came back and took it to the juggernaut Avs while shutting down Makar and Mackinnon.
They need to come out and get a lead and play their nasty style.

Yeah that is what gets me right there, if you had told me that the oilers would only earn 1 PP (and not even score on it) to Dallas' 5 PP, I would have been certain of a Dallas win. As much as many in this thread are talking about how poorly Dallas played, the Oilers got a win without even getting a chance to do what they do best, score on the PP.
Yes, Dallas needs to be better, but i'm also certain that the Oilers are going to be better (at least more dangerous) and will earn more than 1 PP in the remaining games. I dont see anything except for a 6 or 7 game series at this point.
Dallas got a gift from the Refs (as in the refs didnt gift the oilers PP's that they usually do) in game one and still mucked it up

The Oilers PK % is great because they just played the worst playoff team of all time the LA Kings, and Vancouver with top players who quit.

It’s ridiculous how much whining I’ve seen today from oilers fans regarding the reffing. Just because Dallas had more powerplays doesn’t mean the league is rigged against you… I’m sure there were missed calls on both sides, but the oilers penalties were extremely obvious. Mcdavids high stick was 100% the right call, and shows how badly the refs missed the high stick on Hughes
