Its always been structured....it has never seen this many good players before though.

The reason for the fun stuff from the 80's was there was so many guys that just werent very good but also a LOT of guys that were tremendous.

Now, even the 7th dman on most teams can play. 4th liners that were mostly there to scrap and cause havoc, are now replaced with guys that were captains of their teams in junior...ie; really good players at every level.

Its just a different game now...entirely. Better in some ways but horribly worse in others as well.

Im with you though in that...the 80's was the by far the most interesting and intense the game ever was, which translates into entertaining.

Now its just not as entertaining as it once was, though its still a game of beauty to me.
