I'm glad that Hintz, Hakenpaa and Tanev will be getting almost a week of rest.

The playoffs are weird so I’m not going to be over confident until they play the games. Depth and goaltending certainly favour the Stars, hopefully they can make it happen.

The only way they're playing with "house money" is if they mortgaged their houses and bet it all on "cup or bust". This is their window, and it's about to close, hard.

True. And at the same time, I can't think of a team more undeserving as the Oilers. Easily the most reprehensible collection of entitled a**holes in NHL history.
In my 40+ years of watching hockey, I honestly can't think of a team that I've hated more. Not even the 2011 Canucks can match the scum and villainy of this current Oilers squad and the dumbass media clowns who have been proclaiming them Cup champs for 8 years now.
The McDavid era is just the f'n worst. Can't wait for these losers to get their asses handed to them by Dallas.

Well, finally the Oilers are playing a legit contender. No more favourable matchup against the irrelevant Kings, or a Canucks team that limped their way to a top divisional spot after a hot start to a season.
The Stars are battles tested by taking down two teams that have won the cup recently, and could easily be in their position right now. They're well rounded in all departments, and have the advantage over the Oilers on all fronts, offense, defense, and goaltending.
Media loves to gas up the Oilers every year, and then get humbled when a team that should b getting the hype shows them what's up. It's now that time again.
Stars in 5.

To me, this Marvel movie level stuff.
One side built a team.
One side won lotteries and reffing.
The good guys are pretty clear.

How is it house money when the media has been cramming the idea that the Oilers are Stanley Cup favorites since the pre season? Wasn't it Conna that declared Cup or bust? Anything less than the Cup and the season is a failure for you clowns.

Agree with your point, although Dallas had a pretty significant lottery win or two also.

Heiskanen was the only “lottery” exception. And even then he wasn’t 1st OA.
The team they’re playing against drafted 1st OA 4 times in SIX years. And only one of them is still there.

You are now officially on the Oiler train. Not coming back from that disgusting display.
It’s always anyone but Edmonton.
Enjoy watching your boys 97 and 29.

Dallas in 5. Refs are going to put whistles away after being embarrassed by the Oilers diving last series.

Just wait, game 1 DAL will win, but both Tanev and Oettinger will suffer fluke injuries rendering them unable to play the rest of the series.

Silver lining time. As bad as it is that the Oilers advanced, I can take solace that the 28th and 105th pick is better than the 29th and 94th. The Stars still have a former Flames player to cheer for. In fact, Tanev is probably the type of player that I think every fan of hockey can get behind. I know he just got there, but if the Stars win the cup, I think Tanev will be one of the first 5 players after Benn to hoist the cup.
Lastly, now that it is the the conference finals, I think the officiating will be under more of a microscope so the circus act of diving will become a story and the veteran officials left will not want to be embarrassed so the rope will be shorter. For the NHL, they can stomach McDavid bowing out here because it still gives him some exposure and they are probably more keen on the Rangers making it to the finals. A Rangers team in the finals is a NHL wet dream. Dallas in 5.
