On a pure points view perspective he was worse but his play following his horrible start was far superior to anything we had seen.
If Huby starts the season like he ended last year than he should end the year at around 70 points.
Time will tell.
The thing with Huberdeau is that you have to look at the full product from start to finish. Even in Florida when he was a >PPG player, he had his stretches of disappearing. Fans there often got frustrated with him because of it. It's just that when he was on, he was really on. We haven't seen that part of him with the Flames yet, but we still get the disappearing acts. You can't really dismiss the periods where he does nothing and try to pro-rate production over a full season based on isolated stretches here and there. He has always been an off-and-on player, and going into his 30s now, I don't expect that part to change. What you can expect to change is continued diminishing results, or at the very best, flatlining for a few years. If we get 50-60 points from him next season, consider that a win at this point.

I said he was a winger, which is where he plays, but he thinks he is a C. Could be another Lindholm type from Carolina. Give him a 5 year deal.
Zero interest in trading any draft capital for this player, or really any player in this age range, but this seems like a more reasonable target over a Dawson Mercer. This guy wants out, and the Hurricanes have a need for goaltending as well.
He could turn out to be a really good #2C, slide down and be a good #3C or play wing up and down the lineup.
Josh Norris can't stay healthy. I believe he's had two shoulder operations in consecutive years now. It's a huge risk IMO even though when healthy he's very good.

I would do proposal 2 and proposal 5.
2 likely secures Calgary their guy, Tij or otherwise.
5 is a straight steal.
And of course, I hate the idea of Kuzmenko for Chychrun straight across.
Those trades all seem insanely 1 sided for the flames. We need to ride this hype train to get rid of Markstrom ASAP, no way is he worth any of the rumoured deals over the past few months.

… how many starting goalies are on the trade block? How many teams need one? Are you familiar with supply and demand?
Supply is when Calgary has something other teams need
Demand is then either non-existent because all our players are terrible or so high that we’ll be furious we didn’t get a better deal
I don't think it's that our players our trash, remember the outcry that we would get a 2nd round pick for Lindholm.
It's just that goalies don't really have huge returns. Especially one who is turning 35 next season, and has had some injury issues the last few seasons.
