I don't see anything that makes sense from the Flames perspective that is worth it for Carolina.
Late 1sts or deferred protected 1sts won't help them. Andersson or Markstrom are the only players that they need but trading either of those guys leaves Flames in an even worse spot competitively.

It could also be trying to throw some distractions to show they weren't tampering lol

What would everyone be willing to give up for necas in trade and cap,
Middlestat is the easy comp. We don't have a byram and we wouldn't trade him if we did.
Coronato would be the closest offer.
Or the van 1st + 2nd wpuld probably get us in range.
Cap wise he's probably wanting at +7m long term

I second a Necas acquisition.
That's a guy worth the contract and price and is still a young responsible center.
Boomer seemed to confirm that Savard is headed to Toronto as well, not sure the connection but they can have him lol.

What purpose does signing him long term serve us? He isnt a center the area we are worst off?

I can’t see Carolina trading him for futures though. They need players back and not picks.

Yeah I'm sure if the Canes are trading Necas, they will be looking at a move that they think makes their team better. I mean maaaybe Rasmus Andersson or Mackenzie Weegar

If he was worth the contract he wants then I think the Canes would keep him. They are pretty tight on how they value players and contracts.

Which in turn doesn't really make sense for the Flames. Their D is already bottom of the barrel and they may as well get futures if they trade either of them.

What about a retained Markstrom and a late second (or Mangiapane) for Necas??

A package around Rasmus for necas might make sense if the rumors of pesce also moving out are true.

Necas is a long term piece, he isn't a guy you have to be competitive with right away. Markstrom is almost surely gone anyhow and Andersson is questionable.

I don't think he fits the timeline for the Flames but it really depends on what kind of contract he is looking for. I just have a feeling if it was reasonable then the Canes would have him re-signed. Marsktrom as the centerpiece I'd be fine with but he'd probably need to be added to. Andersson I wouldn't want to swap for him.

Yeah I don't think Flames and Canes make good trade partners but it's worth kicking tires on, since trading for Lindholm and Hanifin worked out well for the Flames

They sure need a goalie.

Andersen was 2nd in the league for GSAE/60. They are not stupid and won’t buy high on anyone.

I don’t see that anywhere but he also played 16 games and then had a mediocre run in the playoffs. They need a starter.
