I would never recognize Leland Irving or Todd Simpson. Hell, I probably wouldn't recognize half the current players in street clothes.

I didn’t hate the young guns. Dustin Boyd , David moss but wow.. they were pathetic. What did the scouts see in them?

If I'm not mistaken, Butler had a -7 in a 0-9 to the Bruins. NHL record. Meanwhile, Brodie played way more minutes and was even that game.

I remember being at a game with my Mom in the 90s. We’re watching the warmup, everyone flying around the rink. She points at a guy and asks “Who is that and why is he on the ice? He can’t even skate!” It was Sandy McCarthy.
Fuhr was god awful. Anyone who says Bertuzzi just doesn’t like the player, he played pretty well here. Best backhand shot I think I’ve ever seen. I get it, I booed Marchment every time he touched the puck when he was here.

I feel the same. They all just kinda seem like a generic flyover like the 2008-2013 flames. IMO

Cale Hulse.
And B. Sutter always gave him so much rope. It was frustrating as hell to watch.

I agree about Bertuzzi. I get not liking the player because of the incident and that he was a long time member of a rival team, but he wasn't a bad player. He seemed to have a real knack for going offside though. So many plays killed, but he was good in other ways.

I hope we do a most underrated flames player at some point during the summer, I'd enjoy that much more!
I gotta give this one to Anders Eriksson though.

He was my pick. He didn't play physical. He didn't play great defense. He didn't score. He offered nothing.
At least some of the names in the thread had some good games. Not Hay.

I havent read the entire thread yet but for me this starts and ends with Anders goddamned Eriksson.
I hate that man and I'll never forgive him for being a Flame.

He was fast from what I recall, but that was about it. Just skated around like crazy never doing anything. The kicker was that Hay was the player Button chose to replace St. Louis after buying him out.

Titov is a ban worthy answer; wash your mouth out with soap young man.
The correct answer is Paul Kruse. Played parts of 6 seasons with the Flames and was absolutely horrendous.
I don't know how he was in the NHL.

I know he doesn't meet the threshold for games played, but it's got to be Rocky Thompson for me.

He was pretty good, but he came with baggage but goddamn...that backhand? Other than Crosby I'd agree with you. You knew he was going to the backhand but there was just nothing you could do about it.
He could elevate the puck on the backhand so fast it was insane.
Meanwhile Anders goddamned Erikssen is back there like an idiot, cant keep the puck in the goddamned zone, cant hit the net, cant hit the player...a complete clown show.

I hear ya, I'm a Flames fan though. When you are a kid and that's your team you know. AJ greer, I'd have no idea what he looks like.
