How is nobody mentioning that incredible Barkov goal?

Reaches and just keeps the puck onside, skates through the entire team, and then roofs it while falling down. Game winning goal no less.

Barkov is an absolute stud and has taken his game to another level in these playoffs.

3-1 series lead heading back to Florida. They took both games in Boston...pretty impressive, especially coming back from down 2-0 today.

I think the Panthers wrap this up at home. Boston looks dejected, and they're making a lot of dumb mistakes. That Geekie goalie interference penalty might be one of the dumbest penalties a player has ever taken in the playoffs. Just destroyed any chance of building momentum to come back.

Focusing on retribution or hitting the Panthers star players is costing them. They aren't generating offense, and they're not shooting the puck. Bob has been pretty average so far this series, and they're not taking advantage of the mediocre goaltending.

I think this series is all but over.

^ I definitely feel like this is Barkov’s best playoff run so far. Dude has been great.

Bennett goes from having goals disallowed in Calgary to getting the benefit of the doubt in Florida.

Tkachuk goes from having a reputation as a cheap shot turtle being regularly suspended in Calgary to being a beloved face of the league in Florida.

Sucks to be a Flames fan.

13 points in 9 games. 3 game winning goals. +4 going against the other team's best players. Wins faceoffs, kills penalties (has a short handed goal too). What can't he do?

It's wild just how underappreciated he is in the media (outside the Atlantic division, at least).

The Panthers have faced Vasy and now Swayman, who have been equally good or better. And their defense isn't porous like the Canes. The Rangers seems to be humming pretty well overall though so it's definitely going to be tight.

The entire Rangers team should too, IMO.

Yeah Shesterkin is far and away the best goalie playing right now imo

That matchup, if it happens as expected, will be a challenge

To me the series was over after game 3. That's when the Bruins needed a bounceback effort, to at least keep the game tight and avoid being blown out. They couldn't do it. They're simply outmatched.

It’s too bad we had Bennett and Tkachuk on the roster together for several years and never thought of putting them together.

“I wasn’t surprised. I mean, I think they got the right call,” Bennett said. “I think by the time I’m putting that puck in, it’s before Swayman is going to be able to get over there, whether (Bruins forward Charlie) Coyle was on him or not.”

Explanation: Video review supported the Referees’ call on the ice that that the shove by Florida’s Sam Bennett on Charlie Coyle and the subsequent contact with Jeremy Swayman did not prevent Swayman from playing his position in the crease prior to Bennett’s goal.

Bennett knows the rules.

NHL needs some scientist in the video room.

Is it a sure thing NY would overcome Florida though?

NY vs. Florida would (likely will...) be wild. I'll gladly tune in for that. Trouba vs. Tkachuk. Get your popcorn.

Pushing a defender into their own goalie isn't goalie interference right? Unless I'm wrong and there are examples. You yourself have to purposely using your own power physically impede the goalie.

Now should it be a different penalty, like interference or cross-checking that negates the goal? Maybe but that's up to the interpretation of the referee and not for review.

The rule says "initiate contact, indidental or otherwise". It's still goalie interference if you can show you started contact which impedes the goalie. It also can be "regular" interference on the player you push.

In this case I thinkit's arguable that Swayman could never have saved the goal. It's also arguable that the ref should have blown the play dead because Bennett interfered when he shoved a defender away and that guy could have made a play.
