Only 9 goals for Wood in the season this year. 3 in the POs.

Yeah I thought he was going to have a huge year offensively for Colorado.

He scored 19 and 17 previously, I'm assuming he's had some injury issues over the years.

Ok so I was wrong. Even with the comeback by the Avs, Stars looked like they’d win in OT. Avs prove me wrong x2 tonight

that overtime save by George was unreal.

Avs are always a threat to score. What a team.

In Colorado he's down on 3rd and 4th lines without any PP time. He did miss nearly the entire 21-22 season and the Devils were a much better team when he got back and he was down in the lineup there too.

With the way Colorados top guys are going and if guys like Wood contribute regularly offensively they are going to be hard to beat.

I would vote for this series probably being the most entertaining of the entire playoffs, with the winner being my bet to win the cup if they stay healthy enough. Colorado started off a bit sluggish and rusty, but boy can they turn it on. Dallas can really control long stretches, but Colorado just finds a way to break through and generate quality chances. This is a treat to watch. I hope it lasts 7 games, but Colorado is a monster.

How are the Oilers a betting favourite over the Avs? It doesn't make a lick of sense to me.

betting odds are based on activity (amount bet)

Them and the Leafs have the two biggest sucker fan bases in North American sports betting.

yes and also they are playing the Canucks without Demko while Colorado has to get by Dallas. Propaganda plays a big role too you have national media pretending the Oilers are a good team.

This series will be the epitome of the battle of giants with one team being defensive and the other being offensive. Which will prevail? Stars dominated in first period and OT but still lossed.

I love that chick behind the Stars bench. I think that's the same woman from a couple of years ago when the Flames and Stars played in that awesome 1st round.

They are talking about the Oilers as the betting line favourites to win the cup

yeah I get it

Oilers need to beat the Canucks without Demko to advance
Colorado needs to beat Dallas to advance

Oilers have an easier path to get to the next round which helps their odds in the eyes of the public and the oddsmakers

I know they are NG

That's not true. Betting amount can and does effect the odds but they aren't based on that.

They are. Initial lines are set, based on analysis. But the lines move, based on flow.

Oddsmakers aren't in the business of being the smartest bettors in the world, they are in the business of collecting the bid/ask spread. And you collect the bid/ask spread by having the same amount bet on both sides. If it gets lopsided, the house is at risk. It's just math.

That looked dirty initially but was a clean hit.

Sure. Maybe Benn hit the shoulder first, but Benn didn’t need to carry through with the hit. But that’s Benn for ya. Hope he doesn’t get early onset dementia as a little dose of karma.
