For the most part, the Rangers built their team from lottery wins and free agency signings (players who only wanted to sign there). Though Shesterkin was a great pick.
Carolina built their team more organically. Their roster development took actual skill. It's too bad.

Rangers have been great on paper for a while now looks like they're finally putting it together. Wouldn't be the least bit surprising if they won the cup.
