When Elliotte Friedman attacked Kevin Bieksa for being 'The Canucks Fanboy' on the panel my jaw dropped. Elliotte isn't dumb, he must understand how slanted the coverage is towards the Oilers. It's like he was told to discount Bieksa's thoughts before he could even get a word out.

I've convinced myself Katz has promised to cut cheques to these guys for friendly coverage.

Best part of last night was seeing how shocked and depressed all the SN clowns were. Even later when they switched to the highlights package, the dude said something like "I just can't wrap my head around what we just watched."

Was that game really that surprising? This is hockey. Comebacks happen frequently, especially against teams with shoddy D and goaltending. The Oilers are a two-man team who rely heavily on their PP for offence and generally get their heads caved in 5 on 5. If the calls go down, as they usually do in later rounds, they're gonna struggle to score goals. Other teams like the 'Nucks/Avs/Stars are just deeper, stronger at defending/forechecking, and are able to roll 4 lines. The Oilers can't match that.

This bit seems unlikely, it's not like there aren't tons of Indian fans amongst Oilers too.
As much as I want to pile on all things Oilers, I hope there's solid evidence before people throw the racism card at anyone.

Yeah Gregor has been Oilers in 5 maybe 6 with his shtick. Too bad his station 1440 has to shut down at 6 and let the kids from Westaskin run it for the evening so you can only question him on X.

I heard yesterday how the Canucks can't score and they have no chance to win because they can't win a 5-4 game. Well Jason...yes, yes they can win a 5-4 game vs the Oilers.

More than that though, the Canucks were the better team throughout really. Even when they were down 4-1 they had control of the flow of play, had more scoring chances, had more zone time... the goals just hadn't gone in. And it could have been a night where they just don't go in, but Skinner isn't Oettinger so they eventually did. Even if they'd lost this 5-3 or whatever the Canucks still probably would have felt pretty okay coming out of that that their supposed unbeatable opponent felt very beatable all night.

Shut it down at 4-1. It’s like being told there is no Santa before going to bed, then waking up and finding out he’s real!

Why would that matter? He was suspended from the minors for a discriminatory slur.

Woke up to a really nice surprise! I am not sure what happened but keep it up.

Reading the headlines is incredible. It's like the media thought the Oilers were going to go the rest of the way without losing.

From Sportsnet:
'Leaking Oil': Hockey world reacts to Canucks' wild comeback vs. Oilers

What? The hockey world?

It is incredible this happens EVERY year!

We were in the BC interior this week...my 8 year old wears his Flames shirt with pride.

It seems like every Oiler fan has this need to smack talk him (like when we are walking past their table at dinner). An 8 year old.

The best part is a couple times they arrogantly say "you gotta cheer for a Canadian team now eh?"

And he says "yeah, I'm cheering for the Canucks".

Yeah so Coffee was suspended in 2014 for using a discriminatory slur against an opposing coach also in the playoffs.

If this is true the league needs to lay down the hammer on him.

Glad to see you thinking about me. It means a lot.

Its just one game. Oilers have lost game one and came back to win the series before. Nothing I can do anyways.

Last score I saw was 4 - 2 Oilers. What a wonderful surprise to wake up to. Thanks, Canucks. Ha. Ha. Stupid Oilers.

I agree that it was shocking - and it was unprofessional.

My read on it was that Bieksa has probably been pointing out to Friedman and McLean how biased they have been towards the Oilers all season. And Friedman rebutted that last night. Difference is: Friedman did it on camera, and directly. Very unprofessional, and I would imagine they discussed it afterwards. Friedman directly attacked Bieksa's professionalism, on camera.

Stauffer is an idiot. Anything to make himself feel better and to try and put the Flames down.

This series makes me very sad. It'd be nice to see the Canucks win to improve the pick but it just stings after the events that have happened to the Flames in the last 3 seasons
