https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article...ould-consider/

Quote:
Calgary Flames get: RW Mitch Marner, C Fraser Minten, LW Nick Robertson, D Timothy Liljegren
Toronto Maple Leafs get: G Jacob Markstrom*, D Rasmus Andersson
*Flames retain 25 per cent of Markstrom’s remaining salary
Personally would not do it, but that is the trade proposal on Sportsnet.

Depends on if you think Robertson and Liljegren have much value I guess. I don’t personally. If you think they have some decent value it is probably a good trade for the Flames.

No thanks, he is the same narrative as Huberdeau, can't elevate his game in the playoffs.

Maybe if you wanted to flip him at the deadline, just don't think he is a wise investment at 12, not sure his point totals would be duplicated here, Toronto has a much more lethal offence

It's early in the rebuild, where will the cap space be to sign our future Stars, eventually will draft one soon.

Maybe straight up for Huberdeau, but that ain't going to happen

When you read that Sportsnet article on the trade proposal it makes no sense for Toronto. to give that much up just to clear marners cap, the young prospects they have included, why?....just keep Marner until free agency, its only one more year, there core players are still signed for a long time, it's that impatient fan base that is driving this latest narrative about them.

If I was a betting man, he stays in Toronto one more year

If the scouts like Fraser and then Marner is flipped then sure. No way if want Marner on the Flames long term. I’d rather just trade Andersson though, I bet he can get a 15ish overall

I don’t think so?

Holtz + 10th + Bahl for Marky + 30th?

That seems like a hell of a deal for the Flames.

$6M over two years = Holtz + Bahl
10th overall >> Markstrom + 30th’ish

I am not buying this Leaf fans agenda Marner isn't a playoff performer. This reminds of when people said the same thing about Joe Thornton. In 57 playoff games Mitch Marner has 11 goals and 39 assists while being +10.

He is a good player, not denying that, not worth 12 million in my books.

Comes down to what you think minten is and what you could get for marner? as i cant see another 12 mill winger when we need centers being in the budget.

If you see minten as a middle six center. Liljegren as a bottom pair. Not sure where robertson fits in at all.

Marner for a first and good prospect. Robertson for a 3 or 4 or 5th round pick.

In
first
Good prospect
4 rounder
Minten
Liljegren.

For me it depends on marner return and what you think minten is? If he had top six potential suddenly im interested.

Is that a fair return for marner? Limited market, high price tag, winger?

he will go to Vegas or something and win a cup...like Eichel who couldn't win a big even to make the playoffs
