Yeah, if the results end up exactly like the "rehearsal", there are going to be some questions.

Except the Flames have never won a lottery and have one top 5 draft pick in their whole history since moving to Calgary 40 years ago. If they fixed the draft in favour of Western Canadian cities, they could do a better job. Only one city has ever benefited if that were case.

There was one year I remember Gary or Bill pulling balls out of a tumbler, but other than that, I've always been under the impression that the draw happened behind closed doors and only the spot-by-spot reveal was done live.

I still dont understand why they wont do a live draw or like 1 min delay. Could have a full odds board that updates with each drawn ball. Have the percentages similar to how poker does it. As teams are eliminated from contention, turn off their logos

Yeah, the "rigged to favour the West" thing isn't real at all.
What is real though, is the "rigged to favour teams that would benefit the NHL business-wise" thing. As in, PIT struggling, owner threatening to move the team, in comes Mario to save the day and wow, look at that, they also win Crosby... or, EDM struggling, owner threatening to move the team withtout an arena deal and wow, they just won McDavid... ARI moving to UTA with brand new owners and omg look who won the 2nd overall!

Edit: I meant "real" as in, it's a real conspiracy theory. As far as I know, "rigging the lotto for the west" isn't a real theory.
IMO now those results are tainted. If that's how it end up, they will have to re-draw.
May I suggest allowing the Flames to win? Literally nobody will suspect Gary is pulling the strings if the Flames win.
If they were the legit, witnessed results then this is a major embarrassment. Embarrassing enough if only rehearsal. But if they were legit and the NHL decided to redraw then watch for multi-million dollar lawsuits if the Sharks or Utah don’t win. It would never happen.
