####ing embarrassing people. there is a real difference between edmonton and calgary, and these unwashed savages are a great example. i remember in 04 when we (at the time I was a flames fan so if you have a problem with we, tough luck) lost game 6 and 7. The red mile wasn't awash in violence. The city took it in stride.

I'm not being hyperbolic when I say if the oilers were to lose in the cup final, the city would need the national guard.

the oilers, and their horrible fans, are the truck nuts of canada and the nhl. a total embarrassment.
I like you a lot better when the Jets aren't in the playoffs.

Oh sheesh Oilers went to game 7 in 2006 and there was no violence either. Didn't have to call in the national guard.

That was only Vancouver.

The Rogers Event Center in Calgary isn’t too far off.

I can safely say I will watch a total of 0:00 of this series.

I can’t even bring myself to cheer for Vancouver. But I would prefer if Edmonton lost.

So…

I will not cheer for the Canucks but I'll definitely curse the Oilers. I want to see a Canucks sweep of those losers so this is over in 4 games.

This is not a difficult choice. This current iteration of the Oilers are arguably the most reprehensible collection of losers and scumbags ever assembled on an NHL team. Not even the 2011 Canucks were as unlikable as these clowns. My wish for this series is that the Oilers lose in such humiliation fashion that McLotteryball and Pissy both leave this summer for greener pastures, and that dinks like Ron MacLean finally retire as a result.

If it takes cheering for one of the Flames’ biggest rivals to help make this happen, then so be it. The Oilers should never win anything, EVER. Hands down the most embarrassing, undeserving franchise in pro sports. F*** them forever.

E = No good!

Hmm. I was at a bar on Whyte Ave watching one of the 2006 Edmonton-San Jose games. It was packed and there was a semi hostile vibe if you weren’t decked out in Oilers gear.

After the game there was a heavy police presence, a few Evanders pulled pallets out and started a bonfire in the middle of Whyte ave. At that point we decided it was time to get out of dodge. When we were leaving, there was a column of riot police stretched across Whyte, heading to sort things out. It made the news the next day, I don’t remember exactly how many people were arrested and how much damaged they caused, but there definitely was some violence.

Wasn’t this also how The Strat caught on fire? Grease fans were far from ####ing civilized during that run.

I want them to get swept and shutout twice during the process.

As a lifelong Flames fan, this ownership group does not have winning a cup as a primary focus at all. I would like that to change and if a rival were to win in order for that to change, then that's ok??? I am not cheering for them to win or anything but if they do and it changes things for us, fine. Same thing with Vancouver I guess too.

These billionaires only know how to compete like athletes and that is wanting what the other person doesn't have or can't get. If the other side (EDM) stays pathetic, what is the incentive for us to change our way of thinking? This works vice versa.
When "getting its sh** together" means winning a lottery, what do you want them to do call Bettman to rig the lottery for them?

Edmonton has done nothing but squander building a cup winning team around McDavid, if they somehow finally manage to do it like any other management group would've been able to with McDavid/Drai, then it'll be on the back of McDavid and not any impressive decisions by management.

They are not and will never be a model for success. If luck is your founding principle, you can't really be emulated. Them winning will do nothing for our ownership that hasn't already happened since the playoff series loss against the Oilers. And if any small mindset shift did happen, it's NOT worth the Oilers winning the cup at any time ever lol.

Sorry but ya the Oilers winning a cup is absolutely not acceptable under any circumstance.

Incorrect. There were several stories that came out about violence breaking out on "the blue mile (copycats) back in 2006. I also recall pictures of women fighting with men on the street. Down here with our ladies it was shirts off for Kiprusoff. But no violence.
