Which is actually pretty dumb if you ask me. You don't want to miss obvious calls, but calling chintzy stuff that can potentially impact the outcome of a game/series is just noise the NHL shouldn't want to deal with. Put the whistles away except for obvious penalties and let the teams play through playoff style hockey.

It's a given. We all know the refs are going to hand the Oilers every advantage to overcome the better play of the Canucks. I've never been more prepared to be disgusted.

Then tack on Maclean and his buddies gobbling it up. Just sedate me and wake me up in for the conference final.

And this is the issue the NHL has getting into bed so much with sports betting.

More like WWE / theatre than hockey. And I sure as #### wouldn’t be betting on what seems to be gently guided outcomes.

A B E

Skinner is not Saros, they can get to him. Canucks can take this. Then they can be fodder for DallaColoVegas.

Ron should just toss on his ref jersey and ref the Oiler games.

What if the Oilers were playing...the Oilers?
I would be torn.

The only time I’ll be cheering for the Nucks. Hopefully Lindholm will give Draisaitl some cheap shots to the nuts and turn the tables

Devils advocate position I know, but don't any of you feel that if Edmonton does some damage and perhaps even win, would spur OWNERSHIP to get it's **** together here in Calgary?

As a lifelong Flames fan, this ownership group does not have winning a cup as a primary focus at all. I would like that to change and if a rival were to win in order for that to change, then that's ok??? I am not cheering for them to win or anything but if they do and it changes things for us, fine. Same thing with Vancouver I guess too.

These billionaires only know how to compete like athletes and that is wanting what the other person doesn't have or can't get. If the other side (EDM) stays pathetic, what is the incentive for us to change our way of thinking? This works vice versa.

The Flames ownership wants to win a cup they just think they can do it differently than most winners by pulling a Hail Mary Blues win. Just get in and anything can happen etc.
Edmonton also isn’t a model of franchise success to follow lol. If they didn’t win the McDavid lottery they’d have three 1st overalls and nothing to show. Edmonton will forever and always be no good.

Probably a cold take, but this could have been a really interesting series with a healthy Demko. Oilers in 5.

Correct.

And as much as I'd like the pick to be 25th, that would require the Oilers advancing. So #### that - let's go 29th pick!!!!!!!

Or for them. If you're going to bet, you should always bet with your head, not your heart. And you can't be unbiased with your own team.

Also, #### Edmonton.

apparently Rogers place is considering removing alcohol sales from the viewing party, because, the pigs and savages that oil fans are, they're getting in to fist fights and throwing bottles at each other.

####ing embarrassing people. there is a real difference between edmonton and calgary, and these unwashed savages are a great example. i remember in 04 when we (at the time I was a flames fan so if you have a problem with we, tough luck) lost game 6 and 7. The red mile wasn't awash in violence. The city took it in stride.

I'm not being hyperbolic when I say if the oilers were to lose in the cup final, the city would need the national guard.

the oilers, and their horrible fans, are the truck nuts of canada and the nhl. a total embarrassment.
