Did you read the article? They’re basically just admitting to being extremely lazy.

Because the article mentions inclusivity. It's just talking about including the other Vancouver sports teams (Lions, Whitecaps, Canadians etc)

Today I learned that those bus signs are powered by a Commodore 64, and therefore don't have enough memory to hold a message for each of the city's sports teams.

Pathetic.

But in that case wouldn't "Go Vancouver Go" still be better than "Go Team Go"
Or "Go Sports"

I swear if I owned a sports team I would immediately declare that we are no longer doing anthems. Ever.

As a Flames fan, it made the one day every couple weeks I take the bus to work, very uncomfortable.

I felt like everyone was staring at me. I feel much more welcome here now.

Lazy? Translink runs thousands of busses, each one has to be programmed individually. Vancouver has multiple popular teams that each go on successful runs (Canucks, Whitecaps, BC lions to start...).

If the article is correct, they can only have a set number of messages.

This isn't lazy, and it isn't some progressive initiative (that's just lazy thinking). It's simply a ridiculous amount of work to have specific team messages on every bus running.

Now if the messages could be broadcast to the entire fleet from a single central location that would change things some what. But to me this is a completely reasonable response to a large logistical issue.

If a government agency was found to be spending thousands of hours setting pointless vanity messages on transit vehicles, people would be screeching about inefficient governement or some nonsense.

The Nashville Predators are a team, Go Team Go makes sense.

Vancouver is no good.

This is maybe the worst NHL playoff game I’ve ever watched. Just complete slopfest

Canucks don't look like they are trying, except to be "tough" and failing at it. (Silov looks good)

Preds look like they are trying, but aren't all that good.

End result... who ever wins this will get demolished in round 2.

Aren't 7-6 games the slopfests, not 0-0?

I get uninspiring or boring. But i dint know if slop is accurate.

A good chunk of this game has been characterized by what I'd call "sloppy" play. Like neither team can make a pass without the puck bobbling all over the place or going to the opposite team's stick.

But otherwise yeah I'd agree with you on that

I think the Canucks match up better against the Oilers, and the Preds are a better, deeper team than LA. Oilers aren’t demolishing anyone in round 2.

The Oilers will beat this Preds team in five... Six tops. They don't have enough high end talent to keep pace. Too many journeymen players.

I hope you're right... but I just don't feel it. Oilers looked pretty good more often than not - more so than in years past. I think it's gonna take Dallas or the Panthers to wreck them.

Oilers looked ok against a god awful Kings team. And even then they had a rough go 5 on 5

They also needed a gazillion McPPs. Any below-average team would look good if they had as much time with the man advantage as the Oilers did in that series.

Draisitl and the Oilers own Saros and the Preds. Vancouver stands a much better chance imo.

‘Nucks have had the better chances, but Saros has been a brick wall in this game. Don’t think they’ll be able to get anything past him at this point.
