There is no Shedd teaching Econ to my knowledge.
Campus Cove is one of my top choices to refine my knowledge as well.

Campus Cove is for geeks.

The Den is by far the best place to 'study'

Touche......
I was essentially talking about the pool tables.
But the Den does come to mind....I will soon be spending ALL of my money there.

The Cove is TOTAL crap after the redeco...and smells always of sticky yeast.
Damn subway, damn internet cafe...

they cut down the size of the place 75%, took out most of the arcades, put in a snack bar nobody goes to, installed a Subway which I have major grievances with, and destroyed the totally cool, dark/dingy ultraviolet pool ambiance it used to have with tight corridors of classic arcades.

It used to be so big and now it's just a horrible place. To add insult to injury, the colorful pool area had like half it's tables removed as well to save money I guess so it looks like it's unoccupied all the time.

Speaking of U Of C...

Anyone have any suggestions as far as good classes/profs go?

I started going back last semester for the first time since 1998 and needless to say a lot has changed.

I'm open to trying anything out, just a little bored with the job these days. Thanks.

Wilson and Dube are both excellent poli sci profs. Try to get a geography with Slezak or Holden.

I have Wilson for Poli Sci 201 this semester. He seems pretty good.

Slezak is awesome, I had Geography 213 with him last spring and had to miss the first midterm because I was going to Prague. Well he's a Czech native so he was so excited to talk about it before I left and when I came back. He also talked to me in depth about the Antony Beevor book I was reading at the time.. Great man.. great, great man. I think he won a teaching excellence award last semester.

Well reading these kind of threads I think I miss it. But I know that if I had to go to class now I would hate it.

I certainly miss the opportunity to go out and get blitzed 7 nights a week without any reprecussions coming from it.

Now with responsibilities it makes it much more difficult. However, I don't miss having to go to the useless classes and sit through boring lectures.

I also took that class.

In additon to Slezak being a good guy, that class has to be the easiest one offered at the U of C.

I took that class 3 years ago, and Slezak was awesome, and the course was pretty easy. The textbook had nice glossy paper an' big color pictures and all! Hyuk!

No kidding. He changed the 'A' to an 80 or something like that. No more struggling for those 89s.

The easiest I have had was an SS option I took a bit back, Anth 203 with Dr. Smart.

Soci 201 (intro to sociology) with Henderson. I've had her for 2 classes. She is by far the best prof I've had over my past 4 years @ u of c.

wasn't she fired a couple years back? er, 'contract not renewed'? Or did the student protests actually do something?

If you're taking senior soci courses, Kevin Young is great, and I hear Manzo is really good too.

Political Geography with Peter Herrem is a very interesting course too.
