An off topic for another thread but the NHL and hockey is kinda unique amongst major pro sports. You can be an absolute stud and a top player in the best league in the world, make your money and live somewhere where the general public doesn't have a clue who you are.
That doesn't happen in the NFL, NBA and more. People talk about pressure about playing in Winnipeg or Calgary, but you can't "hide' in soccer.
To my previous post, we can blame management amongst Canadian teams, coaches, executives and owners. There is enough evidence to show that it's not just a few poor managers, there is a serious issue. Outside of Vancouver in 2011 arguably, what Canadian team has been favored in a cup final in over 30 years? Literally dozens of coaches, managers, executives and more in that time frame.

Jets just didn't have the d-core or the centers that could stop the playoff version of MacKinnon and co.
Morrissey-Demelo
Samberg-Pionk
Schmidt - Miller
Dillion - Stanley
Jets management will likely look back at the deadline and wonder why they didn't use some of the assets used on Monahan and Toffoli to try to bring in an upgrade on the backend.

Oilers mismanaged McDavid era, but he still might drag them to a cup at some point.
Leafs have mismanaged their young core.
Vancouver has a good core but almost had poor management decisions derail the whole thing.
Senators are the same thing...had a good core then made bad trades for Debrincat and Chychrun in an effort to accelerate things.
Montreal just hasn't really had any lottery luck and also tried to rush things (Dach and Newhook trades)
Flames also had success too early, then tried to rush things, and invested their cap poorly (I'd also say the only team screwed by market due to Fox and Tkachuk not being here)
In the end all of those teams had chances to build a contender, and didn't, due to a lack of patience and poor management.
Not because of pressure or the market leading to a well built team failing in the playoffs, none of the Canadian teams have just been able to build a team worthy of being a true contender.

The Jets made NHL history. 5+ goals in 5 straight PO games is a record. Set a franchise record for goals against in a series.

I don't really see this..
Barlow, McGroarty, Lambert, and Perfetti are all really good.
Heinola and Lucius look like they might be starting to put it together.
Connor, Ehlers, Vilardi, Morrisey, Samberg and Pionk are all in their 20s.
They don't have a MacK or Makar, but there's only like 5 teams in the league with those caliber of players.

None of those players are centres (or at least haven’t played it much in the NHL). That’s the weakness. Scheifele is 31 and fading fast.

He’s not a #1C. Same spot as the Flames.
I doubt they make the playoffs next season.

Avs were the top offensive team in the league this year. I’ve seen MacKinnon engage beast mode. 4.x would not have surprised me at all
The Jennings is based on 82 games and 31 opponents
