"Starting this fall, all non-nationally televised Kraken games will be broadcast on KONG with 15 games simulcast on KING 5 in Seattle. Both stations are owned by TEGNA."

Does Calgary still get KREM? I moved away in 1992 so it's been years, but I remember getting the Spokane channels for like ABC/CBS/NBC

I believe KING's original owner bought those call letters because Seattle is in King County. The current owner bought the KONG call letters for their second local station because, well, how could you not?

No word if they're going to launch a station called KANG to do those all-important Klingon-language broadcasts.

I would imagine they'll be blacked out in markets of other teams - such as Canuck's market or Alberta, forcing subscriptions to whatever CentreIce is called now.
