We were the best team in the Pacific...

Also, the past is the past. Don't need to be reminded of McDavid single handedly sending us into a rebuild.

I disagree a bit. This is on the Kings as well. They were down late in that game vs Chicago last Thursday and already knew the outcome if they win they get (Edmonton) or lose (Dallas) and they decided to to pop a late Powerplay goal with a few minutes left to tie the game and thus give them the Oilers. These are smart teams, keeping an eye on the out of town scoreboard and strategizing ahead of time. They had the choice at that moment of who there opponent could be, score and we get Edmonton or just let the powerplay fizzle out vs Chicago or heck even allow an empty netter and we get Dallas.

And then they got their hopes up that it was their year and the city went wild. The basement bloggers put on their clean sweatpants and came to the surface. It was time to paint pictures of Ron Maclean holding the Cup on the ice with the Oilers.

Then the Avs came out of the central and caved their heads in.

Hopefully this is like the second round two years ago where the favorite wins the first game in a high scoring game with no defense and then gets a big head and proceeds to #### the bed the next four games.

Just using the Woodskippy playbook.

9-6 loss game 1, after they got outplayed and he made it seem like they won the game.

Obviously we know what happened after, if that can happen again that would be beautiful, but I just don't see this LA team with any heart.

LA scored 5.

The refs can pretend the Lewis goal wasn't a goal and make up rules to get their darlings through to the next round all they want. Nobody is fooled by it.

Why would that have counted? If it hit his stick it would have been a high stick.

The Kings might be able to do that for their playoff opponent but the Flames definitely can't do that for their draft pick.

The issue with the Kings is that their gimmick (or play style if you prefer) works fairly well to defuse teams that play a heavier, puck possession game, but doesn't work when you have quick strike offense. So they're especially vulnerable to the Oilers.

I think what the is getting at that whether it was his glove or stick, the contact was made above the crossbar. I haven't looked it closely enough, but to me it was clear it wasn't directed in.

If it hit his chin, that's above the crossbar and is still a goal.

fair enough. I guess I should have said if it hit the stick instead of the glove then the review would have been if it was above the crossbar.

Lets wait for stang to get some oxygen and then post the new rule that defines High Glove, mind you the ref didn't call it High Glove, they called it "no goal, puck hit a glove".

That doesn't look above his shoulders or the crossbar.

Spoiler!
