Calgary lake communities will be looking like the Fallout TV series in a few years...

They'll rename Lake Bonavista to Shady Sliver Sands.

I was trying to think back on whether normal springs have this period of windswept desert conditions. Don't think it's usually this pronounced.
It makes being outside rather uncomfortable..
I'd choose light winds and rain over this to be honest.

With the lakes getting smaller, that land can be reclaimed to build houses on. Blanket re-zone those lakes!

Are there any lakes in Calgary that aren't fed by city water?

Geez, first time I'm hearing of this. You guys need to work on your bedside manner.
Not much to argue with there. It'll be interesting to see if the Karens around here freak out, but I can't imagine a good argument for thinking it's reasonable to fill a lake with city water during a drought haha.

Agreed, what's with all the wind? Wind combined with no rain/snow in the forecase (please no more snow, rain would be preferred of course) and news of fires out of control up north, all pretty depressing.
Ffs, let it RAIN!

Post amazing takes from the neighbourhood facebook page here for us.
Also, I'll inquire with the city about installing an underground pipe to ship flood water from Sunnyside down to you. To make up for these lean years.

Bahaha. Suck it losers. I know people in this neighbourhood and I have the inside scoop.
We're the only lake in Calgary that doesn't need city water. We just upgraded our pump to draw from elsewhere, have a new kick ass filter so the water will be clean af, and we aerate the water at night so it will never be stagnant.
I'll sit in my floaty and drink to calgarypuck's failed attempt at taking glee in my supposed misfortune all summer long.
Enjoy the drought.
