Yeah, I think momentum is key here. Instead of a traditional 2/7 matchup, this is more like a 4/5 matchup based on the last half of the season. On paper, I think the Canucks are better, but it's not by a lot. If they've lost that early season magic, it means they're going to have to grind more against a high energy team like Nashville. It's a toss up for me.
When the teams are this close (in their current level of play, not just talking about the talent on paper), you have to look at the way the big players on the team have played in the playoffs. O'Reilly, Forsberg, Josi...deadly. Outside of J.T. Miller, do the Canucks have anyone with any real playoff success on their team to speak of?

The goaltending is going to be interesting too. Demko looked okay the other night, but if he gets bumped a little or caught in a scrum, does he aggravate an injury? Saros is pretty equal to him most nights anyway, so any drop in his game will give the Preds an advantage.

I'm still going to say Canucks in 7, but this will be a really close series.

It's easier to bet against Saros?

 Game 1: Nash
 Game 2: Canucks
 Game 3: Nash
 Game 4: Nash
 Game 5: Canucks
 Game 6: Nash

Nashville in 6. I'm good with that

Vancouver half of the bracket looks good for Vancouver, still have to play the games and anything can happen but WC final should be expectation for Canucks. The other half of the WC braket is a nightmare, 3 great teams and the defending champs?

So I just saw that John Shorthouse is going to be doing the PBP for this series and I am irrationally happy. Not having to listen to the Oilers second home broadcast PBP man in Singh is some of the best news I've had in quite some time.

Good news, Shorthouse is great. I still think him and Rick Ball are two of the best in the biz. Can't stand Michaels, and Singh isn't much better imo.

Vancouver has always been ridiculously lucky with pbp. Robson, Hughson, Ball, Shorthouse. Even Bachelor is good but that run of four over about 40 years is just unreal.
Then you watch an oilers game and they're excited for the monster truck mud show hype man, thinking he's good at pbp and not just a screaming lunatic who is a homer for their team so they like what he says.

I think this one goes 7, with the Canucks having more offense to pull away.

Who cares about your hate…. it's hate and stupidity that riot and do stupid things. Trash shows up anywhere.
 Vancouver , I imagine has it's jerks , though I can't really comment on that , as I don't live there.

They've got a good thing going.

This might be the best series in the first round in the west, even though I think a Preds victory like I'm hoping for is not as likely as loss

I've been pretty indifferent to the Canucks receently but the hate has surged back today, maybe its the playoffs in the air. Can't wait until they get bounced unceremoniously.
