Agree 100% with Sam and Frodo being annoying. I always thought that story would have been better with their parts omitted, but I have been told that's ridiculous. But damn, their awkward attraction toward each other is disturbing.

Deoxyribonucleic Acid, for example... sounds impressive, right? But have you ever seen what happens if you put something in acid? It dissolves! If we had all this acid in our cells, we'd all dissolve! So much for the Theory of Evolution, Check MATE!

I can't watch those films at all. I generally have a problem with almost every actor in them except for Sean Bean. I like fantasy but I can't stand the Tolkien world. Then again, I have cognitive issues with fiction like how I can't reconcile how they have "Taters" in middle-earth when my brain keeps telling me they evolved in central-south America.

Haha! I knew that wouldn't be well received in this thread. I don't know, I guess I am not into fantasy. I've seen all the LOTR movies, and I mean I liked them, but I won't be buying the DVD's. Same with Harry Potter but I haven't even seen the movies or read the books. It's just a genre I can't get into too. I'll read fiction books, but anything that has a phaser or a troll in it I pass.

I really enjoyed the wing commander books, except for the one based on the movie that was crap.

Just the other day I had the age old debate about who the better captain was in star trek, and it broke down into a drunken debate on all the Captain's being on the bridge at the same time.

Kirk - "Ok, we'll fake a self destruct command, and then fire all of the phasers and photon torpedo's. Kill em all and let god sort em out later.

Picard - "Diplomacy is the way, let me talk to them . .. "

Janeway - "Screw that, we're going to negatively polarize the deflector array, while shunting warp plasma through the swarp nacelles. This would make a brilliant blue haze of inverse tachyons which will make the enemy thing that we're a cloud."

Sisko - "Let me get back to you after I consult every member of my crew including ensign Ricky"

Archer - "I'll be there in 20 days, because my ship is woeful, dosen't have shields and can only reach warp 5"

Kirk (shoots Archer with a phaser) - "Danger is our business gentleman."
Another way to tell if your a geek is to pick apart Janeway's comment and go that could never happen because.....
I know people that do this.....not me I swear.

Actually, reading that really doesn't make you a geek. Your mind can usually kinda make out what the words are if you have the first and last letters there, and about the right amount of letters in between. Because your brain really doesn't bother to register the numbers.

Edit: And the fact that you could type that out to begin with should say something.

There are neither phasers or trolls in Harry Potter.

But there's both in Return of the Jedi -- if you consider ewoks trolls and blasters phasers....

Obviously you're not geek enough to realize those are not interchangable to any degree.
