Not entirely sure that's fair. Her on screen work that I have watched is actually quite good. American horror story stands out. She was a highlight in House of Gucci.
And the music notwithstanding. She was also really strong in A Star is Born.
Now that I'm done defending Gaga's acting prowess, I'll say I'm not likely to watch Joker 2. Tried re watching the 1st one and I couldn't get through it.

I think it's my pop-star turned actress bias showing up, and I'm okay with openly admitting that.
She was alright in ASIB (uninteresting film though). It was a nice one and done I thought given that it was about a singer rising to stardom and she is fittingly a singer. Seeing her pop up in other franchises is a bit much though.
Mind you I haven't yet seen HOG or this so maybe my attitude will change if/when I see those. Probably. But for now - grr.
I think the main issue with the Joker 2 based on the trailer is that it looks a lot like Joker 1 and that movie was garbage.
Like Sliver’s thing about “fake quirky.” It’s whatever the “dark” version of that and this just looks like more of the exact same thing. I’m struggling to figure out where they even have to go with it that would be remotely interesting.
I never want to watch another comic book movie again. Or at least not in the next two decades.

The only comic book film series I want to see is the Matt Reeves Batman.
The Joker was a cool one off, but also one of those films that was likely better off left as a one off. The film left the viewer with a significant amount to interpret themselves, in terms of what was real and what was the Joker's fantasy. I liked it that way. I don't want the Joker overexplained.

Josh Hartnett is a great actor. I love that in the trailer he already gives away what would in most movies be a predictable major twist. The twist is a twist of a twist in the twist.

The Easter Egg hunters are going to be picking that trailer apart. This movie is going to be riddled with callbacks and hidden things for fans of the comics/movies to point out.
