Good ... I hope she is scared out of her mind and I can't help but laugh at her reaction to all of this.

I always take responsibility for my actions and never try to weasel out of them. That's how I deal with things in life.
As for the moral high ground...... The prosecutor is well with in his rights to go after a maximum sentence. In fact I wish the court system imposed more of these. Too many criminals getting off with a slap on the wrist.

Actually I would prefer that violent criminals got maximum sentences and those convicted of driving on a suspended license not, but thats just me. There's only room for so many people in our prison and jail system...

45 days for driving with a suspended license is not that much time. Besides if you start giving out lesser sentences people are going to re offend. Look at how kids mock the Youth Justice Act.

If this was jane whoever from Arcadia Cali.........would anyone question her release?
Most experts have said that this kind of commuted sentence is as common as a Paris Hilton sighting at nightclubs.
The whole reason she was sent back to jail is because....stunningly....that she is a celebrity.

I will never ever put myself in a situation that would require me to "weasel" out of my responsibility as a law-abiding citizen.
However, if I was, I would condemn myself for being an idiot, and do the time, as scary as it is. I wouldn't be planning parties in prison, or how the justice system hates me. Of course, this is assuming that I actually am guilty, like Paris is in this case.
The thing is, she not only disobeyed the law (DUI) and ignored her sentence (didn't go to the DUI class, drove again), she also showed contempt for the justice system (driving again). This is because she believed that by using her name, fame and power, she could get out of it. She almost did, and I am sure the reason that they are SO firm with this one is the amount of contempt she is showing for the whole system.

Excellent points!
The fact that she showed contempt for the justice system and then cried out to her mommy that it isn't fair clearly shows she will never change. Just another spoiled rich brat who thinks she's above the law.

Or perhaps just a very young person who has a lot of growing up to do and his scared out of her mind.
Bottom line - none of us can say how'd we react when faced with the prospect of going off to prison. Its all well and good to say that you would do the honourable thing and just do the time, but when you're actually in that situation - I don't buy it. Most people's fears and emotions would cause them to behave in a much different manner.

I disagree. I think she's a manipulator who always gets what she wants. And in this case thought her celebrity status would get her favouritism. Who also conveniantly didn't tell jail officials of her medical condition hopeing she gets sick enough they'll release her. Good thing the judge didn't buy into her manipulative ways like the Sheriff dept did.

Chances of me facing that prospect are slim and none and none just left town. The fears associated with prison life should be enough to dissuade anyone from comitting a crime.

very young?? She is 26 years old for Pete's sake!!
I agree with Regorium 100%. The blatant & repeated disregard for the law.......sorry, but IMO she deserves it and her outburst today shows she's hasn't learned a thing
Poor Paris - Boo to the hoo! I wonder how many people would make excuses for her or sympathize with her if she's injured or even killed someone while driving under the influence? She needs to learn a lesson and she's the one who chose to do it the hard way.

Man you are missing my point. I'm not suggesting she doesn't deserve punishment in the last. Nor am I making excuses for her. I simply find it hard to believe that placed in her situation everyone would be as calm and as rationale as they are claiming to be.
And the argument that you would never end up going to jail doesn't matter. Good people do make mistakes and go to jail.

Nobody in the mainstream media, for example, bothered to inquire very deeply into whether Sauer's sentence was within the usual range for such an offense. That's interesting, because how a judge employs discretion is normally an important part of any court story. Had such questions been asked, the reporters would have found that Sauer's sentence was unusually harsh for a defendant who had behaved as Hilton had. It was far more typical of the kind of sanction a judge might have imposed on somebody who had violated probation by drinking and driving again, which she did not do. (In that context, it's also interesting that no one bothered to debunk early reports that Hilton also had failed to enroll, as her probation required, in a program to discourage alcohol abuse. In fact, she's close to completing such a program.)

Come on, she drove drunk, on a suspended license, gets her sentence cut in half, yet screams and cries wen she has to go back to jail and say its not right and cries for her mom.

Um she didn't drive drunk on a suspended license. In fact she's never been convicted of drunk driving I don't think. I think the first offense was reckless driving which is not drunk driving...
