It's funny how our D went from an A- grade to a D grade in a couple of weeks.
They were actually looking solid leading up to the back-breaker trades. Take out a whole second (first?) pairing and spread the other two out, this is what you get.

I just realized Connor Zary is outscoring Huberdeau this season (goals) which is hilarious. He makes over $9mm less. Big NHL contracts are almost always such a colossal mistake.

The contracts for McDavid, Kucherov, Matthews, MacKinnon, Tkachuk, Panarin, pastrnak all seemed to work out. More often than not they work out.

Disagree. Most NHL players are paid for past performance. You put forth 6 superstars and say case closed and I could go get 100 overpaid vets.
Human nature. Guaranteed contracts. This is an easy one, take the L and move on.
