The Coyotes roster is 100% a product of the inept ownership and management over the years. I doubt it's on many No Trade Lists as bad as the organization was.
Another thing is that the Contracts of Vorachek, Little, and Boyd all expire. So that's 15.3 million or so dead cap that was being used to reach the floor. Only Weber remains on the books with 2 more years at a million to achieve a cap number of 7.88. So the Coyotes would have been contract hunting again here trying to find ways to get to the floor for less. So this might be a pressure point to get this dealt with. A new owner can move Weber to LTIR and spend more real dollars on the payroll.

Or trade him to a rebuilding team looking to re-enter a competitive window in a couple of seasons from now. They have the draft picks to burn. If only there was such a team available.

I don't like "Yeti" either though. It sounds kind of goofy.

I guess Yetis are winter themed...

Also: The New Jersey Devils are named for the Jersey Devil, a cryptid creature with hooves, a snake's tail, bat-wings and a head that looks something like a horse, and not Satan Lord of the Underworld himself.

I heard the Jersey Devil has orange skin and blond hair and weighs somewhere between 250-350 pounds depending on who's measuring. Wears red ties and hats.

So, is this confirmed that the Coyotes will definitely move to Salt Lake City, Utah for the upcoming season?

I am hearing rumours of possible division relalignments with Edmonton and Calgary moving to the Central.

Not 100% confirmed. There are still things that need to be worked out. It is rumoured that there might be an official confirmation on April 18th.
Friedman was speculating that because the cat is out of the bag earlier than they wanted it to be, they might make an official confirmation sooner.
The Coyotes have dodged death a few times, so until it is 100% confirmed, I will be a little apprehensive about believing it.

Confirmed as in signed, sealed, and delivered? Not yet.
Acceptable framework that may have verbal agreement or close to it. Yes.

You know what, let's do it. Let's collect those high picks playing in division with the Avs and the Stars.

Not arguing with your point, but Boyd wasn't an injured guy acquired to meet the floor. He got injured this season but played 156 games the previous two seasons in Arizona.

Because it's the Coyotes, it'll have to be April 15th or 22nd. No other days of the week allowed!

Odd. Salt Lake is east of both. Just a tad east, but still east.

Would the league do that? Take away that rivalry with Vancouver or at least play it down?

Oof. That would make the travel really bad for that division.
3,000 KM from the furthest points, compared to 2,100 KM now.
I am too lazy to calculate the average distances for teams to travel, but it would certainly be way more than any other division.

Time for the NHL to rethink what a 'division' is. Edmonton, Calgary, SLC and Vegas should all be in the same division simply for longitudinal reasons alone haha.
Also, Calgary in the Central? F off with that ####. Pacific is where they should be.
