I'm sorry but the idea of the Coyotes struggling for most of their existence, relocating to Utah and then another expansion team coming to Arizona is ####ing hilarious.

Bettman is nothing, if not determined to make this market work!

They're going to be the Salt Lake City Shakers! We've got jerseys drawn up, logos made and everything!

Fine. I won't complain as it will come across as being salty. Though that would also come across as being a team player if that is their name. Huh. Tough one.

Smith was asking for team name suggestions back in January. I wouldn't read much in this latest "contest." The formal bid was launched a year ago, and all those incidental details have likely been worked out.

Arizona won't get another crack at a NHL franchise for at least a decade, if not longer. Back of the line behind Atlanta, Hartford and Quebec City.

They'll go back to Phoenix before Quebec City.

We're talking decades. Franchise values for instance, could plummet.

If it was strictly about the biggest US markets, Houston would already be in the league and Atlanta would never have left.

From what I've seen, the biggest change might be some different fabrics -- like getting rid of the waffle pattern fabric on the shoulders.

Then, you consider the changes the Jazz have made to their uniforms since Smith bought the team, and they might be going with a very minimalist design anyway.
This is true, though I look at MLB and they're still using the same factory this year as last and some teams have been told that certain versions of their uniform won't be available until June (like Mariners Sunday jerseys, Cardinals blue ones): https://fansided.com/posts/mlb-jerse...unday-uniforms

What does the NHL get to gain by going to Quebec City before going to available big TV markets in the US? The NHL only cares about where they'll have the opportunity to grow their revenue in the long term. Quebec City doesn't have as much potential positive impact for the NHL like the vacant big markets in the US does.

They would play the road runner "beep beep" everytime they successfully kill a powerplay against.

Big TV Markets, but how many are tuning in?

I anticipate there'll be a market correction of major professional sports franchise value at some point.

The Coyote's AHL affiliate is the Tucson Roadrunners.

Heck, they play in a larger barn that the parent team.

It still strikes me as complaining, just not as intense and salty. He is basically saying he was ticked that no one consulted with Scottsdale about it and they won't help with traffic flow.
