I want to hear this story. Unless it's too personal, then I apologize and I didn't mean to pry.

Body cavity searches for California prisons have been recently limited by new legislation in the California legislature:
http://law.onecle.com/california/penal/4030.html
So. . . . . not having a cavity search is probably the norm.

I am not going to get into specifics, but when you are in a rock band and do a lot of touring you also do a lot of stupid stuff...
just want to clarify that it is nothing sexual in nature i am not a pedophile....

Well, seeing as how most of the celebs these days already provide video evidence of what is in their cavities before they go to jail, I understand why the cavity search is not entirely necessary.

The L.A. City Attorney is pissed
Quote:
My office was not advised of this action. We learned of it this morning through news reports, just like everyone else. Had we been provided with the proper notification, we would have opposed the decision on legal grounds.
News reports indicate that the Sheriff's Department released Ms. Hilton to house arrest due to a medical condition. This explanation is puzzling. Los Angeles county jail medical facilities are well-equipped to deal with medical situations involving inmates.

Heard on the radio she's being forced to appear in court again tomorrow.

So what happens if she does violate her house arrest? If they can't put her in jail because of her medical condition (ha), then wht's the worst that can happen to her? More house arrest? Or let's call it what it really is... mansion arrest. To most people, it would be a swanky holiday to spend 40 days on that property. Hell, I wouldn't mind 40 days in my basement apartment without having to worry about the world.

I honestly think that she is being picked on by the judge and prosecutor because of her celebrity status. If nobody knew who she was she would have been released and no one would of cared. In this article it even mentions it happens all the time because of overcrowded jails..

I disagree. If anything, she is getting favourable treatment because of her status. Keep in mind that prison crowding was not why she was released. She was released because they said she might have nervous breakdown... which is freakin' idiotic.
There are people in jail who are on constant suicide watch. There are people in jail dying of cancer. If she were some joe blow from Idaho, I doubt they would give two craps about a "nervous breakdown".

I guess I know several people(meaning 5-6) who have gone to jail for pretty much the same thing as her and 100% of them were released while serving about 3-4 days of a 20-30 day sentence. Hell my friend went to jail and only served 1 day of a 36 day sentence. California and Texas(where I am) jails are just too crowded so they generally scare nonviolent offenders by throwing them in there and then let them out shortly thereafter.

They should have let her rot. She is THE most useless person in the world. The funny thing is that she is an heiress, all that means is when daddy is going to die, he will sell Hilton hotels and give her the money. No way she could run the empire.

She's been clever enough to take advantage of the inanities of our modern culture to build a brand that has earned her many, many millions of dollars outside of the fortune of her family.
There's a pretty sad statement to be made about the fact she could make millions on her own in the fashion she did . . . . . but, nevertheless, it's a free world and everyone is entitled to be a huckster just like you're entitled to be a sucker.
In all honesty, being released from prison early like this is probably bad for business as her brand might have emerged stronger had she served her full term.

Baut again, this is not about prison overcrowding. This is not the reason they gave for letting her.
If the jails you and your friends been in were not overcrowded, do you think they would have let you out before serving less than 10% of your sentence?
Not bloody likely.

This is the quote from the article I posted...
"But Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore noted it's not unusual for inmates to finish sentences under home confinement.
The overcrowded jail system frequently releases inmates early after serving only a fraction of their sentences."
Maybe the jail's overcrowding caused the jail not to be able to accomodate a suicide watch. Jail's generally don't have a a huge staff when it comes to psychiatric problems; prisons do, this is not a prison though...

Exactly. She had a network TV show, been in movies, released a CD, and gets paid a fortune to appear at night clubs.
