How they don't have confidence this early in the year, is beyond my understanding. Shocking they can't hit. It really shouldn't be this bad.

No way Babe Schneider makes the play that Varsho just did. Saved a run, maybe more.
I know we need some more hits, but that defense does have value.

I'm not the biggest Varsho fan but his two catches have saved this game from being a blowout.
Although 2 runs is practically a blowout with this anemic offense.

The biggest predictor of future performance is past performance. Last year they were wildly inconsistent at the plate. Why were so many predicting that magically they'd piece it all together? Based on what? Their performance last year would indicate this is likely who they are. Maybe a guy or two would improve but most players tend to continue play year over year without crazy vast improvements. It's on the players but when I see hacks taken at junk, I think that's on the batting coach philosophy and him not getting them to buy into his vision.
