They barely have the basic knowledge of their own industry. Now if someone in their organization started giving out pinky rinks maybe they'd take things more seriously.

Side logo story. I used to take on graphic tasks as part of a jack-of-all media side role in my architectural career. I was young and knowledgeable about tech in an industry full of old schmucks, and these guys don't outsource much of anything if they can get one of their own to do it. So after building yet another website for my employer, my boss tells me to get a billboard sign printed up with our company logo to go on a site sign at one of our projects. The only digital logo they had was a 100x100 jpg. Uh, ya sure. I can print this 36" wide, but let me warn you what that might look like.

So, uh, guess you're learning how to do vector graphics and remake this thing eh?

I sometimes have to get company logos to put on our website or posters or whatever, and I'm amazed at how many sites you go to that don't even have their proper logo(it'll be on some background) or the resolution is garbage. After going through this a few times I put a little logo package together for ours that you can just download from our "about" page. I'm just amazed how poor so many websites are at this.

I have posted this before, the pinnacle is speaker phone and facetime while walking through a crowed public space.

An airport for example.

Man what the ####. There’s gotta be some secret or program that people are using? Super awesome beachside trip turned into way less awesome not beachside at all trip.

WRGMG, is seeing this post and realizing I missed the 10am opening yet again. For weeks on end, same thing, get busy at work and bam, gone.

I guess that's another gear grinder. How Monday morning is timed to be the important day for getting a weekend.

Best description for a graduation ceremony I've heard (I think from Bill Burr) "Imagine sitting through 5 rounds of the draft, in a sport you don't care about"

And if the school staff try to kick you out for cracking a beer, make a scene. Everyone there wants the entertainment anyway

My sister went through a long bout of trying to find her career.

I have been to more Graduation ceremonies than I care to think about but going all the way up to Olds for her graduation as a vet tech was probably one of the better ones because it was....a little less 'stuffy?'

My kids graduating from Grandin? Those were brutal. Hundreds and hundreds of kids. I remember one teacher giving me crap because I had to go to the bathroom.

"Thats not very polite!"

"Get lost." <- except imagine it in a less polite vernacular.

Lady, I dont go to your school and you hold no authority over me. Begone.

God...I miss my Grandmother so much. She just wouldnt take this nonsense. The second the Grandkids were across the stage she'd lean on her cane and grab my arm and start limping heavily....

Teacher: "You can't leave, its impolite!"

"My Grandmother needs help and she has to go the washroom...in the nearest bar that serves good wine. What're you gonna do? Block an elderly disabled woman and her grandson who is helping her? Yeah. I didn't think so. Buh bye!"

More of a Vent than a Gear Grinder...

Trying to get a Tee Time at Kananaskis at a decent hour.

Logged on 45 mins before opening...Still 1450th in line to select a time in June...

Nothing decent left by the time I was allowed in.

Oh well...try again tomorrow.

It’s best to just monitor around the cancellation time… good tee times always come available. I think it’s 72 or 96 hours prior to the tee time. I don’t bother booking when it opens anymore.

Golfists...the worst, just the worst...well, not as bad as Cyclists, but they're next!

I might be able to make an earlier Tee Time if I could borrow your helicopter...

I'm going to invent a game similar to Polo but its going to be Golfists on Bicycles hitting balls around, I'm going to sponsor a tournament.

Then I'm going to take my helicopter and Napalm the whole place from the air.

Then potentially nuke the site from Orbit. Its the only way to be sure.
