Thought I'd share this new Ben Hodges interview.

Hodges is such a refreshing combination of deep knowledge and a clear vision delivered in plain spoken manner.

...whenever you think you've heard it all, Russia has something new for you.

The Russian election had a good bit of chaos. The weirdest part of the story is Russian elderly being scammed(?) into throwing molotov coctails into election offices.

Absolutely massive attack on Ukrainian cities the past few hours. Barely a blip in the news. Wife talked to her friend in Kyiv just now. People there are still going to work earning a living while sirens and explosions are heard all day. Kharkiv is a different story. They are getting pummeled hard. Wife learned of a colleague who was killed today in one of the attacks in her village, Kozacha Lopan. Yesterday there was a video showing her neighborhood decimated by shelling over the past few days. She is certain that her family's apartment is destroyed by now and is "at peace" with it.

Meanwhile, this is how the US reacts:

US has urged Ukraine to halt strikes on Russian energy infrastructure

Thanks for the advice bud!

....so it's true, Russian seriously cannot defend it's vital infrastructure against these cheap drones?

That's very embarrassing for them.

i suspect all countries are ill-prepared for drone warfare. whether energy infrastructure, navies, or other high-value targets.

Multiple gunmen open fire at Moscow concert hall, building on fire after attack

https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/russia...tack-1.7152498

Shades of Chechnya, or something else?

Apparently multiple attacks? There's a very graphic video of mass Moscow mall shooting on X as well as the concert hall, look at your own risk

US intelligence knew of an imminent attack weeks ago.

https://ru.usembassy.gov/security-al...next-48-hours/

Location: Moscow, Russia

The Embassy is monitoring reports that extremists have imminent plans to target large gatherings in Moscow, to include concerts, and U.S. citizens should be advised to avoid large gatherings over the next 48 hours.

Actions to Take:

Avoid crowds.
Monitor local media for updates.
Be aware of your surroundings.

Next step I expect Putin to declare this a Ukrainian terrorist attack, with the push for 500K to be mobilized from within population centres like Moscow and St Petersberg, largely left alone in previous mobilization efforts.

Yup, all too convenient. Warnings from various intelligence agencies a few weeks ago warning about this. That probably delayed the attack until now. Putin secures his victory last week so no worry about losing popularity during an election. Shoigu on TV going on about increasing manpower and people wondering where it will come from. The russians now referring to this as a war instead of a special military op. Moscow and SPB have largely avoided mobilization, but now the perfect excuse has popped up. How...convenient this all falls in place at this exact moment in time.

I actually wouldn't be shocked if they go beyond Ukraine and frame it as an attack by a NATO faction. I don't think we can underestimate just how much of a lunatic Putin is.

I don't think it's a coincidence that in the past 2 weeks, countries like France, Finland, Sweden, Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania have been saying we need to prepare for war. Or that Denmark expanded military conscription to include women. Or that Poland just announced that they are constructing emergency shelters and public warning systems. Maybe I am just paranoid, but there seems to be a lot red flags lately.

Next up, Russia's going to nuke itself as a false flag. If you live in a small, poor city downwind of Moscow... get out now!

I can't/can believe that in the past week or so I read that Russia could use another theatre attack to promote its agenda, and here we are now lo and behold another theatre attack transpires.

They do it because they can and want to show they can.

Its their MO, similar to someone committing suicide out of a window.

It's really annoying that propoganda is now going to be shot out there into the news space in social media or traditional means from both sides, making it easy to just lap up whatever stories align with someone's already made up mind, which has been framed by the same sources through years of shaping. Wall Street Journal, NY Times, Russian media, etc have all been proved to lie in the past through stories they publish, but many will just pretend that the propoganda and lies never happened before and believe whatever they want.

Well now ISIS has claimed responsibility, I wonder if Putin will still spin it to blame Ukraine?
