Probably not a strong market to begin with but maybe not impossible. But if we get to next fall and a goalie needs to be waived to play for the Wranglers, I doubt it's Wolf. Feels like Dan's time has come to an end regardless.

I am wondering about that too. Get him surgery now, let Wolf get playing time backing up Markstrom and hopefully a pain free Vladar can be a great stop gap next year while Wolf adapts to being an NHL starter. Split the duties between them and let the hot hand play more.

Yeah if Markstrom still has a nagging issue you'd think Wolf gets the vast majority of the starts to close things out.

This probably just means his hip has been bugging him and they may as well get it done now. They could haveplayed with dates and kept him out of surgery until the start of the season then done it so they carry only two goalies to start. But this means IMO that they want him in shape to be traded in the offseason.

If Markstrom is on the block for this summer, I'd like to see him showcased with some strong games to finish out the season too.
