I think unless Daniil changes his game (i.e. becomes way more aggressive in his approach), it's going to be tough for him to win another major. You can't ultimately be successful running down balls from behind the baseline and hoping that your opponent misses because both Sinner and Alcaraz miss very infrequently. That's the Andy Murray old school approach, but it doesn't translate well in this new modern game. He's also 28 now and I'll give him four more years of being able to have this kind of foot speed and stamina before father time comes calling.

Sometimes 2019 seems like just yesterday but when I saw the final 4 of 2019 IW tournament was Thiem, Raonic, Federer and Nadal it seems like a million years ago.
Anyway congratulations Alcaraz, dude is electric to watch.

No Canadian men seeded for Miami and only one female Canadian seed (Leylah) for the women's tourney. Things are looking pretty bleak as far as Canadian tennis is concerned these days.

20 year old Alcaraz is great, 20 year old Nadal was better

Felix will play a qualifier in round 1 and he wins that match would take on Zverev in round 2. Shapo will face Luciano Darderi in the opening round and if he is victorious would take on Tsitsipas in round 2. Not easy matchups for either Felix or Shapo.

Also reading today that Charlie and Medvedev will be playing for Team Europe at the Laver Cup in Berlin later this year. I think Europe wants to take back the title after losing the last two editions.

20yo Carlos slaps 20yo Rafa on grass and hard, and they have a competitive match on clay. But yes, Rafa's early Master's count will probably never be broken.

I think Alcaraz would win on hard court but grass would be super close. Nadal lost to Federer in the final while Charlie beat Djokovic in the finals of Wimbledon but IMO 2006 Fed > 2023 Novak. Clay im taking Nadal

Just devastating, didn't her father also die when she was young? Poor woman, been through so much, this is just awful

Konstantin Koltsov, the boyfriend of Australian Open winner Aryna Sabalenka, has tragically died of a blood clot, it has been reported.
Aged just 42, Koltsov was a former professional hockey player with the Belarus national team and played with the Pittsburgh Penguins in the NHL.
It is thought that Koltsov died in Florida where he was supporting Sabalenka as she prepares for the upcoming Miami Open.
News outlet Telegraf reported that Kolstov died of a “detached blood clot”.

Now it should probably be added that they're just tranlating the story from a Russian or Belarussian news outlet which can be suspect at times.
Edit: I see the Belarus hockey twitter account is saying it was suicide...

Pretty good draw for Canada in my opinion, but it won't matter much if Felix and Denis can't find some good form. At least they have a few months to get back on track.

The way he's playing, Alcaraz could very well end up with 8 Masters titles before he turns 21 in May. Not too far off of those gaudy Rafa totals.
