i was at the STH thingy at the dome. tried to come home southbound blackfoot. got stopped at 46th?? go down 46th nope, back to blackfoot to go back up to 42nd and then down 11th, get to bottom of the hill and nope there's a car with water up to the windshield in the intersection. Finally i went further down 42nd, made my way to ogden road and then onto barlow, then deerfoot. Took almost an hour to get home to mackezie towne. Got some flood pics though from my cell phone. I thought i might be stranded as I didnt want to cross any big puddles as i just got my car on wednesday and it doesnt sit all that high.

I was in my Protege 5 so it was absolutely terrible at times. At one point, I had to hop up onto a curb on 36th street by Marlborough Mall to avoid a huge puddle in the intersection that would have sucked me up. I'm relieved my car is okay as I was almost positive I was going to take some damage on the drive home.

I was taking a nap when the storm hit, I almost had a heart attack when the thunder started cracking. Loudest I've heard in a while.

If they designed that thing anything like they did the U-Boats, it woulda lasted pretty long.

All aside, luckily no fatalities, just 2 people struck by lightning, but they are expected to recover.

I'm going to have to buy a paper tomorrow and see some of these pictures. I was totally dry at home here in Edgemont and didn't notice anything up here on high ground. Internet, Digital TV, all fine. Heck, I left the windows open and rain didn't even come in.

Here in Erin Woods, I heard some of the loudest thunders ever. Would have been a bit more fun if I was out in it. Last years crazy lightning storm was awesome, especially cause I was right in the middle of it coming home from work on the C-train and city bus lol

Thunderstorms are pretty much the only thing I like about spring/summer.

Just continues to rain as I type. Things must be getting worse and not better. Must be hard to get all the lakes and rivers off the roads in the middle of the night while it's still pouring. I'm guessing a lot of people are gonna call in sick tomorrow or maybe something from the city to tell people to stay home.

It was quite odd to see all the damage on the news this morning. We got a bit of a shower, but not really a lot of water.

To give you an idea of how little we got- I was debating going outside to water the lawn at 9:00 last night. The I heard it raining about 4:30 this moring and thought to myself "good, I didn't waste that water last night."

Glenmore Trail closed between MacLeod and Elbow due to flooding. That's going to make for a fantastic trip to work for a lot of my co-workers.

The rain seemed to start right at the city limits of Calgary in the south as I was driving in this morning . . . . . . not a drop was falling as I opened my gate this morning.

The Highwood was rising pretty fast in High River yesterday.

Anyone heading downtown from the south end, Blackfoot is pretty good to take. I made it down in good time, no delays, and no huge puddles or anything.

I walked a bit up Elbow, NB Elbow is a parking lot pretty much as far as I can see in either direction from Glenmore.

A coworker of mine just said the reason for the closure of 14th St. between 5th Ave and 16th Ave NW is because the hill at 16th has partially collapsed onto the roadway.

Rode in today and Nose Creek is at insane levels. It must have risen about 10 feet or more last night. It has since dropped, but the bike path under McKnight, 32nd and another road were all under about 2 feet of water. The Bow is up there pretty good as well. The Elks and Fox Hollow Golf courses have most definitely seen some damage from it.
