Can we mock the people that wear pajamas pants out and about in public?
I do it anyways. They just look sloppy. Id rather they just wore shorts if there was a choice.

One thing you’ll notice about winter shorts guy, they always wear the proper length shorts that just go over the knee. None of those weird above the knee thigh high shorts.

i wear shorts all year round - but i'm always hot.
i'm in my shop right now, in shorts and sandals and the thermostat is at 15C and i feel totally comfortable.
about the only time i throw on pants is if i'm going to be outside in the winter for more than 30 minutes... so yea, i shovel the driveway in shorts, a hoodie and sometimes sandals, sometimes shoes.
i of course throw on pants for more 'formal' things but it i could, i'd always be in shorts. i don't like sitting in my own sweat.

Lol right? No one told me about that. I'm still fat by any definition but man do I feel more cold after losing a lot. Fortunately I've found sweaters that fit me again digging through really old bins of close that I kept in the hope they'd fit me again some day.
As far as shorts my neighbour does this (he's not fat, just stocky but seems very healthy), he says he values the comfort of the shorts more than the discomfort of bare legs.

Since Covid I still see people walking around outside in pajamas.

What's the temperature cutoff? It's still winter but a high of 12° today, and I'm not fat. Am I craving attention if I get groceries at Superstore in shorts today?

My time of living in Panama has made me adapt to their culture of men not wearing shorts in public unless at a beach or pool. I think it's considered clothing for children. I don't wear shorts outside of my house no matter how hot it is now.

Here in Singapore, I question the people who wear coats or hoodies in the middle of the day when the sun is blazing and it's 34 degrees.

I find these shorts are almost exclusively cargo shorts as well; I think it's a cult.
Pajama people are even worse.
I think people are just lazy about their appearance these days, and too many people dress like their kids.

Shorts are freaking amazing. In the summer. Cargo shorts are ugly.

I dont really like Cargo shorts, but they're also not really needed anymore?
I carry certain things with me, but in this day and age, you can really simplify that.
I carry: Keys. Phone. Cards.
My ID/Driver's License, Health card and 2 credit cards fit in my phone wallet case.
Car key, Office key, House key. 1 keychain.
Phone/cards go in one pocket, keys go in another, maybe some cash? What do I need a million pockets for?

How will I prove how much tougher I am than you if I can't make it through Canadian winter in shorts?

The fact this is almost exclusively a behaviour of Millennial dudes, means there’s got to be a cultural aspect to it. It can’t just be ‘running hot.’
The pajamas in public thing is more widespread, and probably deserves its own thread. It was already a thing before the pandemic, but has become much more common since. It seems a significant proportion of society never re-emerged from living in goblin mode.

Weird, in my mind's eye shorts guy is a fat Gen X with a goatee. My mailman who does shorts daily down to -20C is a Gen X (but not fat and no goatee).
But really I don't think this is generation based. Although boomers in baggy basketball shorts is always funny to me (usually a summer thing though)
