The thing that I particularly like about Miromanov is he's a 6'5" guy who can play like he's big or small. He can be physical and he uses his reach super well, but he's also pretty mobile and he jumps into the rush like a fourth forward.

You can tell just by watching him that he used to be a forward. He’s got really smart offensive instincts.

I want Miro to play a bit of forward and D in the coming years for the only reason I miss having those dual eligibilities on guys in fantasy hockey, lol.

The best thing about Miromanov is that we can keep using the Frank Reynolds meme. What did he have, like 8 shots the other night and at least half of them were cannons.

Sens acquired former 2nd rounder Jamieson Rees from the Canes for a 6th... he had looked to be progressing a bit but has really been terrible at the AHL level this year.

And a tremendous attitude. This is a guy who is going to keep working at it until he is a top player.

I just want to say that was absolutely hilarious to watch that simpleton post over and over and over again and absolutely no one was responding to him and starting to discuss other things. Like someone said he looked like a toddler screaming for attention and all the adults were ignoring him haha
Then of course a couple people couldn't resist and had to quote him again.
Anyways, sin bin is a start but probably should have just ban hammered the putz
How about that Miromanov?? You're right scorp, the guy has been looking like another uncovered gem from the pro scouts.

The most effect ignore feature is the one inside one's one mind.

Taking a while to get to 5000

re: Miromanov, for a guy still getting past a knee injury/surgery, he has a great second gear passing through the neutral zone. When he's 100% that'll be fun to watch.

Admittedly I don't pay attention to the Devils. Can someone tell me what the allure is of Mercer? Is he just playing lower in the lineup and in need of more ice time? His stats seem fairly pedestrian to me (28 points in 66 games). Is this a player with a high ceiling that just needs to prove himself?

Drafting a #1C isn’t easier. You usually need at least a top 5 pick and hope that one of the top prospects is a center. And yeah sure, you can in theory get lucky and have a later pick emerge as a #1C, but luck isn’t a strategy.

I always thought to myself I’d never use the ignore function and for 10 years that was true but this schmuck finally made me cave.
Sadly I don’t even think it’s trolling from his end. He had (some) researched data and some that was made up. For someone to put that level of effort, just to troll a board, doesn’t make a ton of sense. I fully believe he actually buys into his own schtick and that is his true bias.
When his sin binning is done, have Mercer on him and don’t ban him. I mean mercy.

He clearly wasn't arguing in good faith either. Making up stats, refusing to acknowledge anyone else's valid points, and resorting to various ad hominems. Eff that guy, leave him in the sin bin forever so far as I am concerned

I don't moderate.
I did ban Spurs because I had enough.
But I also want to be careful not to just ban or shut down people that are pushing back on positivity on the site.
It's a line.
I'm watching.

I think the main deal is that is the best prospect they have that the Flames could ask for in a trade. They felt that Holtz was shortchanging the deal.

That guy had a scary amount of time on his hands to be doing that on multiple boards.
Hopefully he uses the time that's been freed up to work on this job he supposedly has with the devils... they'll need all the help they can get by the looks of things lol.

Since the Markstrom news came out I started watching some devils games on the background to see Holtz and Mercer. From the games I’ve watched, it looked like Holtz and Mercer didn't get much ice time. Mercer was typically behind Hischier and Hughes as the 3C, and didn’t get any of the quality PP1 minutes as they would play Bratt, Hischier, Meier, and Hughes as the 4 fwds. However, I think last game (I didn’t watch) they bumped Mercer up to PP1 and put him as a RW with Hischier and Hughes.
When I was watching, Mercer’s play style reminded me a lot of Brayden Point. Not the biggest guy, but would be able to win puck battles and beat guys on the rush. He’d be able to speed up the wing with the puck then slow it down to make the play across, dangle, or keep it for a shot. He looked like he had the inklings of a sneaky game breaker to carry his own line, but didn’t have the ice time to do it. I think that’s why a lot of people like his potential..
He probably will never be the puck distributor in NJ since Hughes and Hischier are the main guys there. He’s also probably not too happy leaving a decent amount of money off the table by being the 3C to the two former 1st OA center picks.

Does anyone have details on the rumor that it was Maloney who mixed the Markstrom trade?
