Flames go to playoffs! Let's Go!
VGK won't make it to the post season this year is my prediction. I think the Blues will sneak in. VGK looked slow and just not interested going down this stretch since mid-January. I think they played too much hockey for the past 6 years and the core players are just tired or injured. They're not the same team like they were in years past.

Miikka Kiprusoff says hello, don’t think so. Close perhaps and may get there, but, nah. Yet.

Single game confirmation bias.
You also have a established history of having irrational hate against certain dmen.

Regarding eliminated teams:
How about a round Robin tourney for both conferences (8 teams each). They play one game against each in their conference (all get min 3 home games $$$$).
Winners of each conference play 2 games H2H (H and A). Total goals winner gets to move up max 10 spots. Other team gets to move up 3 spots.
Rest stay the same.
Get rid of the lottery balls!

lol. like who? A 37 year old Gioldano?
A buttersoft Butler?
Single game? Hanifin besides a stretch of 15-20 games this year has been an average-good defencemen with one of the worst playoff D performances in Flames history.

Kind of defeats the purpose of the draft, where the worst teams get the better opportunity to improve
There is a big gap between bubble teams and bottom dwellers

Mobility?? no one touches Wolf. but it's different eras. If Wolf played back in the 80s and early 90s he would have won the Vezina every single year.
and just weird to trot out Brathwaite and Trefilov???!!!! Brathwaite is prob the best puck handling goalie in Flames history though.

You are making the claim. You provide the data.
And it was a small handful of games that not define the player overall.
Except if you are leaning into information that supports your already strongly held opinion.

You posted at the exact same time my revised version was posted.
The tourney would be used instead of lottery balls so only 1 or 2 teams could move up. Plus extra revenue for league

Kipper was more flexible and probably as fast. Although Wolf is lightning fast.
The similarities in style and stature are substantial. Kipper was only 2 cm taller.
Wolf is 5 years younger then when Kipper joined us and broke out, which is the biggest reason to be encouraged.

and I don't hate Hanifin. He just isn't a difference maker no matter how many fgfe% fle%$^^%% stats you provide.
Doesn't pass the eye test.

Nikita Okhotiuk is an interesting player. I really like his size, skating, physicality, and defensive IQ. He certainly needs to work on developing his puck skills and composure under pressure but he could become a very effective defensemen if those areas even become NHL average.
