I have only sat though all three extended versions in one sitting twice, but I have seen them individually about 15 times each. I'm not as hardcore as you I guess, but I do know most of the dialog and I've read the books once every year since high school (and I'm not telling how long ago that was!).

Honestly, I have a hard time watching the LotR movies because I can't stand Frodo and Samwise. I guess I technically dont qualify as I often fast forward past their scenes.

One thing that fascinates me is how many closet Trekkers are out there in the world.

They are everywhere and it's awesome although very hard to get them to admit it...but once they find another closet Trekker, much glee ensues.

do you consider yourself a Browncoat?

do you substitute "Frack" or "Frell" for the F-word?

do you know what the term "zerg rush" means?

i know way too much about the Star Trek universe, but funnily enough i never got into watching TNG. Voyager hooked me in and then i got really heavily into DS9 after that, but TNG just never grabbed me. i liked all the movies from that cast and i've seen enough episodes to know the main storylines, but i'd never consider sitting down and watching the entire series front to back like i did with Voyager and DS9

Did you ever skip a junior high school dance to play RISK or Chess?

There's actually not a lot I can say yes to on this thread, but the Facebook on the cellphone thing, guilty. I get a text message everytime someone sends me a message..etc.

Do you know what the ROFLCOPTER and LOLLERSKATES are?

That's odd since most Trekkies generally have a low regard for Voyager amongst the series. I think I've only seen all of TNG because it was so horrifically popular in the early 90s and it was everywhere, sometimes, on 5 TV stations at once. I'm not a great fan of TNG either. DS9 is fantastic but I prefer Babylon 5.

My favorite is the original series though. That show was amazing.

I do it too. I also do it with my dvd player. After I hit "Open," just before the disc tray comes out, I do the come hither hand gesture in front of it and then it opens. My family makes fun of me a lot for that one.

Ha, I know. I wasn't always awake from start to finish, it was often put in the DVD player after a night of drinking or something and I'd watch as long as I could, but it was rare that I would still be awake when the battle at Helm's Deep would start.

I have a habit of doing that with movies. I've probably seen the first hour of old school close to 30 times, but I've only seen the end about 6 or 7.

I have dorked out though and watched all three LOTR extended versions back to back to back 3 or 4 times. I love watching movies, and every time I get a new TV, DVD player or sound system I have to test it out on LOTR.

And I eat children for free, souls still cost $2

Alright, time to fess up I suppose. I've only ever done it once with LOTR, but I cant remember how many times I've done it with the original Star Wars trilogy. I live for that stuff. I like Star Trek too, but Star Wars just rules all. I've loved that stuff since I was a kid.

I've even done it once for all 6, that was a marathon let me tell you, but man, those first 3 are hard to get through, I had to walk through them with my buddy Johnny (Walker) just to get to the good ones. I'll stick with the original trilogy.

Locke.

There, my horrible secret is out.

Can you name the original 23 Autobots on the Ark when it crashed on Earth?

Do you know who the Knights of Ni became? Do you know what their second task was after changing names?

Does anyone know what Step One is?

I'm going to clarify that... I don't mean "cut a hole in the box"

We have this conversation in the office a lot. I frequently win the nerd of the week award of course.

We often comment on how the things that we find the funniest, the great jokes we often make, would be understood by absolutely no one else in our lives other than the people in the office!

Try to explain Leeeeroyyy Jeeeeenkins to your wife or anyone else for that matter, and 99/100 times you'll get an uncomfortable look that says "you're supposed to supress those tendencies, not revel in them".

Lol, I am so glad I escaped that.. right around the Ice Age expansion. Everyone hated my blue-white control decks, I don't know how many times I almost lost a Wrath of God because a friend almost tore it to shreds.
