Drink fracking cum on live TV. Albertans want a leader who is 100% behind Oil and Gas. He can't talk from both sides of his mouth. Yeah support green initiatives, yeah invest in renewables, but Albertans will not vote for a leader who would not die to keep O and G strong.

I wont argue that, Daniells Smith...you can see the crazy wafting off of her from miles away.
But Notley didnt do herself a ton of favours during her tenure either.
A new option is exactly what this Province needs.

Considering the voting doesn’t start for 2.5 months you could probably give him… like… more than 45 minutes.

Well, you either have to believe they are dumb and easily led astray by misinformation, or the more scary thought, they actually think Smith, someone who...well, I'm not going to go through the list...is actually a good competent leader. It's more comforting to believe they are just dumb. The alternative is terrifying.
My point is it doesn't matter if it is Nenshi, who ya, Calgary voted for. The Blue Blinders are incredibly powerful in this province, and the opposition could run Superman against team blue, the outcome will be the same.

of course, that's where I'm curious. Does he run a similarly left campaign. Does he move awayfrom the traditional ANDP, more towards the middle? Or does he just run on his name?

Membership bought. Was planning to do it whether he ran or not, but I'm glad to signal my preference to the party early and hopefully discourage petty infighting counter to the greater goal.

I bet he borrows a plank from each of his competitors to demonstrate team play* and his commitment to building a united team. Of course this could also be spun as lazy "stealing", but I would support the approach.

The fluid is made entirely "of ingredients sourced from the food industry," the company says, making it safe for Mr. Hickenlooper and others to imbibe.
"You can drink it. We did drink it around the table, almost rituallike, in a funny way," he told the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources. "It was a demonstration. … they've invested millions of dollars in what is a benign fluid in every sense."

This lifelong conservative voter (except in the last provincial election) and O&G worker just bought my first ever party membership, and it feels good, man.
**** Danielle Smith and her party of idiots.

Obviously I am being facetious, but the point holds. If someone wants to be the premier they have to whole heartedly support oil and gas. I am not saying that's a good thing, I am saying it is a political reality.

I think this race is won and lost in the next 5 weeks. Nenshi will need to sell enough memberships to offset the group that wants the NDP to move back left after Notley.
Nenshi has the social justice side that lines up well. I’m interested to where he ends up on labour issues and economic issues. Economicly he’s much more conservative than the typical NDP is.
