The Oilers are also down 4 draft picks for 2025 and beyond.
Hockey Writers has the Oilers with the 29th best prospect system as of now.
Meanwhile Draisaitl's deal is coming to an end...

So this year the big add is Troy Stecher and this is what's going to catapult them to a Stanley Cup. Alrighty then.

They needed to upgrade their goaltending as well, and they haven't done that either. They'll be done in the 1st round. 2nd round at best. Even if they somehow managed to fluke/McPP their way to the Final, most of the top Eastern teams like Florida, Boston, or the Rangers would absolutely demolish them. They're not getting anywhere near the Cup.

Their lone add on the backend was Stetcher. OK. They have no depth on the blue line at all. A rough round or two, or an injury back there and they are ####ed. Broberg is next in line and after that it's even more laughable.

I posted this the other day but I didn't want it to be lost in all the trade deadline posting flurry. I think picking up Miromanov and pairing him with Kylington was the perfect move because the following is a perfect anagram:
Now to CHED News:
Who are D-partners Daniil Miromanov and Oliver Kylington?
Pros who are now violently dominating noted Oiler divas McWanker and RNH

Oh my gawd, this is too funny. A random comment from a poster over at that other site.
Also is anyone else annoyed by how sloppy Stauffer is on the radio? Guy sounds like he’s trying to talk with a mouthful of water. It’s like they have a Mediterranean chicken in front of him and he’s salivating like a dog
By the way, does anyone know how to change your signature on this site?

Oilers losing twice in the same game is one of the funniest, most Oiler-esque things ever.
Having a game being decided like that is beyond ridiculous though. It's only a matter of time before we see someone use that challenge in the playoffs during a game 7 OT, resulting in an entire series, or heaven forbid the Cup, being decided in that fashion. This league is just getting worse every season with the stupidity of some of these rules.

Finished the game. Quick trip for a B2B tomorrow. Meanwhile, their opposition is still playing and will have travel at least 2x longer before they get home.
