Here's the logo in its entirety:
I think it supposed to be "2012" in those weird blocks. What a joke.

In all fairness you can't see the whole logo in this post. You have to go to the link and look to the right of the article to see it in full view. I don't mind it. Something different and i'm sure the kids will like it.

I don't mind it either. I can certainly recall seeing others that I liked less.

Hoz's simple yet eye catching logo:
London 2012 Olympics

The Mexico Games indentity is actually considered quite a classic. It was designed by Lance Wyman, who later on happened to design the +15 identity system for Calgary.

Personally, I think what we see here is a classic case of design by committee. Honestly, I was hoping for more from a place like London.
While I admire their effort of doing something that goes in a different direction, I dont think the execution is there. Street graphics are pretty popular these days, but when they get in the hands of large corporations or institutions, they tend to get somewhat hokey. I know they were trying to be bold, but this really isn't that new. Somebody was just watching too much Saved By The Bell.
I'd like to say I like it, but I can't. I guess we will see how they apply it, that can make all the difference.

Table, what did you think of the Vancouver one? I'm sure there was a thread about it.
I frankly find that one even worse.

Awful. If they wanted something "young" and "edgy" they should have pulled a kid off the street to design it. Not some corporate graphic designer.

Hmm...not sure what to think of that one yet. I'm with Table5 and I would like to see it implemented as apposed to on it's own before I can make a judgement.
Just out of curiosity, but for everyone who hates it, what would you like to see as a logo? Something classic and more "traditional Olympics" looking or something more cutty edge or what?

Wow. My first thought is "what the hell is that?" The thingy on the 2 is ridiculous. Lame-o.

Meh it's just the logo. Im really looking forward to the london olympics, they'll do a great job...plus its an excuse to go to london, not that I need one.
As for Beijing, I'm kinda worried...I think a lot of the athletes are too.

I could make the Olympic Rings in 1 minute in paint. It doesn't mean they suck.
I for one really like the Mexico 88 logo.
