The Flames traded a young Brett Hull and won the cup. Flame fans don't mind that trade.

The idea is to make your TEAM better, not to get too emotionally attached to individual players

2001 birthday vs 1998 birthday really isn't that different to me for the trade valuation TBH. Little bit of extra value but Markstrom is a much more important piece than Tyler Toffoli.

Sharangovich was an RFA when the Flames traded for him, Mercer will be an RFA in the offseason due for a raise. Salaries will be similar.
