Especially when all it cost was a 5th rd pick!!

This is an awesome deal cause it seems SJ had too many dmen.

Even if he ends up being a tweener, all it cost us was a 5th.

A 5th is much less valuable than what we just got - someone with immediate NHL potential as a top 6D.
 |
Agree! Young, steady defensively, gritty and likes to hit, is worth a 5th, IMHO.

After bringing in those other Russian Dmen and Bruce in their UFA trades, I think the Flames' depth on D is fine. Center, on the other hand...

Good guy to sop up some minutes, and if he works out, Sign him up at a low contract.

Man it's so refreshing to hear Conroy on the Fan. Dude is dishing it all out on the table, with honesty and friendliness.

To be honest, I tuned out when he was talking about Kylington (I'm still working haha)... I'm sure someone else can summarize or the interview will be posted on the Sportsnet site shortly!

Coincidentally Makarov is listed as having the same birthplace as Okhotiuk. Chelyabinsk.

Sidenote: I need to brush up on my Russian geography now that we're team Russia.

Conroy didn't say anything committal. Sounds like they're just focused on making sure Kylington is happy & wants to continue playing first.

As others have said on here though, presumption is he sticks around.

I see Okhotiuk as the 7th d-man, behind Hanley, but well ahead of Gilbert & Oesterle.
