Well. Come draft day we know now if Demidov is at the Flames pick, they'll take him. No Russian factor fear there.

Setting the groundwork to draft Silayev or Demidov? Trade for Michkov in the off-season?
 Give us all your Russians.

He plulled the old fake out by looking great in his first game (I call that the Jokinen).

Hahaha no doubt.

I've always liked what Sandman says though. Dude follows prospects more than almost everyone, and his writeups are quality. He likes this kid, so I'm on board.

This team is still a little soft, so having another big hitter out there on the ice is a welcome addition. Flames are making sure that they have a nice mix of stay at home defencemen with offensive defencemen. I would think this is fairly good value out of a 5th.

The 5th given up was the one acquired from Van in the Zadorov trade. Vancouver acquired it from Chicago by trading Beauvilier there.

But hey, prove me wrong. Diamond in the rough or whatever.

How do you get a 23 year old NHLer or even a tweener without trading? Unless they are some undrafted colleged player with no experience?

I have to ask … what are we going to do with all these dmen that have been acquired in the last week? That doesn’t even include what’s in the farm

Sergei Pryahkin was the first Russian permitted to leave and play in the NHL.
