"Adam Fox of the north" lmao. The OHL of today is frankly not very good. At the lowest it's ever been.

You'd think the Adam Fox of the north would have played higher than 3rd pairing on the US Development Team, been able to cut it at Michigan instead of ducking to go play against 17 year olds, or get even a call to be considered for the World Juniors.

I missed spurs or moon or dgibb10 or whatever their future site name is.

Their dedication to this site is second to none

That has more to do with politics of hockey. If he was playing in the US he would've been easily on the team.

Jeff Marek who watches a lot of Jr hockey has called him the Adam Fox of the OHL.

No need to bring a player down when you probably have never watched him play.

Just a general question: In a situation like this you can either be optimistic or pessimistic - they are reasons for both positions. Why are you choosing pessimism? Is it because you're afraid of being let down and this is a way of protecting yourself?

Watched him play plenty.

Again, the level of play in the OHL, especially today, is LEVELS below the NCAA.

If you have expectations even close to that, you're going to be sorely disappointed.

We saw Bruz against top US competition on the development team. He was the 6th/7th dman.

Fox dominated.

Then fox went to college and dominated.

Bruz could have went to Michigan, but was probably worried about being buried below Seamus Casey on the depth chart just like he was on the development team

I like Hunter Brzustewicz, despite his name being frustrating to spell consistently. He'll need time in the AHL to learn how to check against grown men, though.

I'm sure you have.

I am not expecting him to be Adam Fox. I haven't watched him live. I won't crap all over a prospect for no reason. Especially when there is so much that can happen from now until he makes it to the NHL development wise.

I don't hate the odd negative/contrarian poster. I just wish there was a limit on post count since threads just become congested with everyone arguing with them.

I never interpreted the "Adam Fox of the AHL" references as a projection of the quality of player he will be, but rather the play styles and perhaps the impact on the leagues they play in.

I don't think there is anyone on the forum who projects Brz to be anywhere as good as Fox.

Yeah, we already had this argument with Rikster

He threw out the quote and comparison in an effort to vastly overrate Bruz.

He is a quality prospect. Probably value him around a high 2nd.

He has however quickly become very overrated. It's what happens when you combine the jacked up OHL point totals with new trade hype.

It's quite easy to follow the OHL living in Ontario.
