Agree, but he shouldn’t be a main piece as part of Markstrom trade. Would take Holtz over Turcotte.

It'd be awesome if Conroy could trade them something for their 2025 1st and then the Flames would have both of them, unprotected.

They started the season 11-0-1 and have gone 22-23-6 since.

Imagine drafting Gavin McKenna with the Vegas pick.
I would imagine the 2025 would be protected in any event.

Agreed, Turcotte would not be the main piece in a trade with LA.

I agree, buy low candidate. I would not have him as part of a Markstrom package, I would be willing to give up the Dallas 2nd round pick for him. Or for sure he is not the main piece of a package. He also left college at 19, same age virtually all CHL prospects turn pro.

Bob McKenzie on Tradecentre just said a Markstrom trade probably isn't happening today. Never say never but probably revisited in the off season.

That's all I need to hear. Enjoy your day folks.

Here’s hoping that is Dreger using his good ole buddy Bob, pressuring Fitz.

Ah well, no need to move Markstrom and reward the boys for playing so well.

Markstrom as an asset doesn't lose value in the offseason.

Woooo!

I wonder if the Flames do any trade today involving taking on a bad contract for a draft pick

What is your logic behind this? I can personally think of about a dozen reasons of why Markstrom has more value now than he would in the offseason.

Could be more suitors as teams reset for a new year.

I doubt it, if they don't make any trades.

I could see the Flames using their last retention on a 3 way deal for a 4th or 5th round pick

Brutal. Accept our 2nd round pick before the draft. Conroy lost the staring contest.

As a Flames fan I really don’t care about NJ’s outcome. Care about maximizing return on an asset that does not assist or fit in the timeline of the rebuild. Highest value he will ever be is now. If that gets you Holtz, Casey, 1st with retention you take it and run.

Can’t wait for the worse trade in the offseason so they can try and get a 15th overall pick

And you think that offer drops to a 2nd round pick at the draft?
