What fanbase ever nails the return in their predictions?
You're wrong about that too. Lindholm return surpassed all expectations. So the last 5 trades demonstrate that it goes both ways. (See also: Sharangovich)
Why is that? Well, Vancouver really, really wanted him and specifically him.
Interesting right.
Who really, really wants Markstrom now?
Idiot.

I haven't been disappointed since the Tkachuk trade and that wasn't Conroy. Don't let the noise get to you and look at what was traded. A 5/6 D man and his full salary. Toffoli who is old and wanted an extension. No thank you dave. Seeya. An aging 3/4 d man that wants a chance to win. A 3/4 young defenseman that wants to go back tonhis home country that was food, but not spectacular. Then there was Lindholm. That trade was a home run. This is what rebuilding looks like. All those pieces couldn't move the needle and now they're gone. GMs are not overvaluing players this year and thats fine. Calgarys gm has also not handed out contracts like candy to make a splash like the last one. I get if people are upset because they see some what they think superstar but let's be real. These aren't upper echelon players. They are all decent pieces to teams with a better puzzle right now. Calgary has 3-4 years to build theirs right now also. Its the right track. Kuzmenko is the oldest piece they have brought in and he has one year left. Do you think he's getting a 7 or 8 year deal from Calgary? Nope.
The big picture looks nice from my view anyways. I'm goingbto enjoy watching this team battle for everything they have with guys that were just behind and needed a chance or change of scenery. I'm ####ing tired of all the "PRE MADONNA" player bull####. Thats where you can respect the Toffolis and Colemans. Boots on and go to work. No crying. No bull####. Anywho, thats my take anyways.

The rest of your 'lessons' fall on their face once you blow the punchline of your first bullet.

Yeah but you wait until the offseason and the best comp isn't one you're gonna like (Fleury from VGK to Chi)

Lindholm return got 1st, Prospect, Cap dump, nothing prospect, 4th. you weed out the Kuzmenko dump and it's a standard 1st+Prospect rental return.
Yegor is a good player. Always liked him. I was hoping he'd broken out in a new situation. I looked into it more and it's the typical shooting% heater that leads to a player being overrated. None of his other metrics are any different.

Trade Markstrom.
Not doing it now is just wasting more time.

Dude wait, you’re gonna carry water for *checks notes* 31 year old Toffoli but not *checks notes* 34 year old Markstrom. I’m sure that your “comps” indicate that goalies can play at a high level longer than forwards. Man were you first in line for Koolaid at Jonestown?

Yegor Sharangovich career shooting % before this year: 13%. Now he's shooting 18%. He's not generating more chances, higher quality chances (in fact his xGoal metrics are worse). His defensive metrics haven't changed.
It happens every single year

Imagine spending your free time, finding the forum of another team's fan base, and then spending your night arrogantly telling them all how wrong they are.

At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Vezina “conversation”? The conversation begins and ends with no.
If you want to bet I’ll pay you on a loss and donate the winnings to CP on a win. There’s zero chance.

Toffoli is a rental. Rental prices get jacked up at the deadline. That's the way the world works. If toffoli had 2 more years at a high price (or 5 to match until the age Markstrom will be) it wouldn't help his value, in fact would probably hurt it. Honestly if Markstrom had 2 years instead of 3 his value would be higher.
I said it earlier but there's been very few goalies over the past 15 or so years to be able to sustain quality starter play from ages 34-36.

Sharangovich's 4 point night tonight must've sent this guy over the edge.
NJ may have given the Flames their next 1C for an expiring UFA. An old one too!
If NJ is willing to give up such a valuable piece to the Flames for an old Toffoli, then this rumoured Markstrom package seems light by comparison! Not sure what the problem is.

Checks notes: Still worse numbers than Toffoli despite shooting at a rate 50% higher than his career numbers.
