His trades have been largely underwhelming. It’s a worrying sign.
There was not much he could do with Hanifin, he had 0 leverage. I could say that he should be more patient in his trades. Feels like he pulled the trigger with the Dallas trade too early, and it wasn't even like the Lindholm deal where he got exactly what he wanted. This trade he definitely did his thing where he asks the other teams interested "Hey anyone got a better offer, i'm about to do this" and probably just took what Vegas was giving because it was better than the flaming pile of garbage Tampa probably offered.

Except the 40% of them that have been home runs?

Do people think he has all these deals in front of him with massive returns and think he chooses the worst one?

This is the market. It seems a touch light but not by much. It's only bad compared to a bunch of fantasy returns that people dreamed up.

Disagree.

Regardless, happy to be rid of these chuds that don’t want to be here. Now, it’s all about a bottom 10 finish to end this year and next and hopefully, just hopefully pick up someone to make the team relevant again.

What's next for the Flames?!

Conroy's interview sounded like there may be more. Even if some small stuff.

I would LOVE to see Markstrom gone for a 1st. Also, would be great to see Mangiapane gone.

I do think we might see one more total surprise trade wifh the Flames selling or buying a young player.

Exciting 1-2 days ahead. Conroy has done the heavy lifting and can now focus on some more creative stuff.

With the flames sitting on 6 million in cap space now hopefully they can be the third party in one more trade and pick up a 4th or a 5th. Unless they hit a homerun and move markstrom out for good futures

Probably not, I feel like it was we either get Holtz and a minor piece, or their next year first. Maybe a 2nd + Seamus Casey was possible too.

Strongly doubt we were ever or going to get Mercer in return for Markstrom

Fair enough. I haven’t read too many Flames fans rip on that trade that brought back a guy just listed as a top 5 prospect in the Flames pool, a 1st, another pick and prospect and a NHL player who had 39 goals a year ago. Lindholm has been trash for a while now as well.

I wonder of they can get a late round pick for Rooney? Or Gilbert?

Flames have 8 D up now. Perhaps Oesterle and/or Gilbert as depth to someone for late picks. I think Mangiapane is possible. Markstrom or Vladar. Lots of cap space for brokering one more retention. Maybe a hockey trade. Could still be lots happening on Friday. Oh, Rooney, right, good one.

Sec's gifs were related to Markstrom, so maybe we'll have another fun day tomorrow....

For all we know, they could be looking to trade guys like one of Mang, Coleman, or even Kuzmenko....

We'll see, and maybe it's the events of the evening talking, but I suspect Markstrom stays and the Flames actually spend assets on a guy like Barrie. Who they'll re-sign.

What potential players are available that Vegas might trade their unprotected 2025 first round pick for? I’m assuming it’s a forward. Guentzal is the biggest forward name I’ve heard on the market.

I think the Flames should absolutely be looking to move a winger (and Markstrom).

Dark days ahead for the flames.

I hope they don't half ass this to try and stay in the mix.

Burn it down.
