Totally okay with future 1st, we don't need to load up on one draft, Calgary needs multiple drafts with multiple extra picks but this is a joke. Bare minimum we should have seen two 2nds come back and those turning into a 1st if conditions aren't met. This is utterly baffling.

Oh well, I liked all the other trades Conroy has made. This one on the surface looks like a stinker, however. It really seems like Hanifin and Brisson basically twisted Conroy's arm. I guess in light of the (possible) background shenanigans, better than nothing.



A conditional pick based on if they decide to trade it elsewhere? And top 10 protected? A 26 year old 'prospect'? Conditional 3rd (turns into a second if they win a round) definitely makes it a bit more palatable, but this is really bending over for Vegas right now. It seems as if Calgary is doing its' best to help Vegas.

I think the best case scenario may be if Vegas trades the 2025 pick so we get the unprotected 2026 and hope they are bad in that year

Somewhere it was said you can’t have that condition any more.

Anyway, while people can be unhappy with the return, there’s no blaming Conroy unless you think he turned down a better deal for reasons.
