Sopranos - The Blue Comet
Wow.
Pauley messes up a hit on Phil Leotardo and it gives NY the chance to take out Bobby Bacala and Silvio (who wont recover from the coma he's in).
Tony goes into hiding and Dr. Melfi officially cuts off her relationship with Tony.
What an episode, setting up the end.

So, is Tony getting whacked to close things out? Sure is setting up that way. Can't wait for next Sunday.

I cant see the series ending with Tony still alive or not in jail. The only other alternative would be a Godfather III ending - Tony loses his real family and gives up on everything, moves to Sicily and lives out the rest of his days. Although that would be a weak cop out.
I sure seems like theyre setting up Tony being killed - cutting of parts of the family, Dr. Melfi cutting ties and then him going into hiding. Theyve been setting up his struggle with the family and his family since the beginning... perhaps Carmella, AJ or Meadow get killed in the crossfire.

Another interesting angle that has been set up is Tony turning states' evidence against the mafia. The FBI has been pretty handy of late, and the majority of the Soprano family is dead or dying, so I could see this happening. The only guy really left is Pauly, and Tony was debating whether to whack him himself. I could see Tony turning stool pidgeon and screwing over everyone he has an axe to grind. Would also set his family up elsewhere and buy him some respect with Melfi. Going to be an amazing finish.

Wow - an angle I never thought of. I think Tony is too loyal to "this thing we have" to rat out anyone. But it would be a way to save his "real family" and finally conclude this internal struggle he's been going through since the beginning.
I was also hoping that the last episode would be a 2 hour finally or at least extended somehow. The amount of loose ends that remain out there and the depth that the story line and characters have, it's going to be difficult to conclude the series without several questions still lingering... unless that's Mr. Chase's aim.

Wow. Just, wow. I am going to be so sad when this is over. Has there been any talk of a movie or anything ala X-Files? I know there were rumours a couple of years ago...

How about next time you show some respect and put SPOILERS in front of the title so people who don't have the eastern feed from stolen satellite signals, don't read this and ruin it for everyone else. Grab a brain

Why take the chance if you haven't seen the episode? Don't get all snarky, there are people from every time zone on this board.

Wow... just wow.
As for Silvio... I think they left him in limbo for a reason. If the show ends without a movie, he can be assumed dead. If there's a movie, or a new series down the line, they can bring him back. Remember, Tony wasn't supposed to get out of his coma in Season 6a... its just dramatic license.

And those people should have the simple respect to put SPOILERS in the title.

I can totally see Meadow getting killed in a crossfire somehow. And to reply to an earlier post, I too was surprised this episode wasnt a two-hour one. Hell, it wasnt even ONE hour. I looked at my watch when the ending credits rolled, and it was still 10 to 10. That finale better be at LEAST two hours, there's alot of junk left to wrap up. Like what's going on with Junior, for one? How bout this whole terrorist thing?
I saw an interview on Glenn Beck last week with the guy who's playing Phil Leotardo, and when asked if fans would be satisfied with the series finale, he responded "Mmmm...meh, kind of". Sounds like they may be setting things up for a movie.

Get over yourself.
There have been threads like this after each episode.
It's your own fault

I am thinking Tony avenges his co-hort's deaths and takes out Phil. Seeing the pain his real family is going through, makes him take stock in getting out of this thing altogether.

Awesome episode, unreal, I found myself saying Oh My god, like 5-6 times. It's tough seeing characters like Sil and Bobby get shot. I mean, Sil has been on the show from the very begining and he was my second fav character, next to Chris and that was tough as well.
I thought the scene between Melfi and Tony was very strong, but there had to be an end to their relationship, and that seemed appropriate to me.
Gonna be a sweet episode next Sunday, I hope it's a long one, because I can't see them wrapping everything up in under an hour.

Oh guzzy. What did you think this thread was going to be about? It's Sunday, the day the second last episode airs and the episode is called "The Blue Comet". I thought people would be intelligent enough to assume that there might be some discussion as to what happened in the newest Sopranos episode... I guess youre the exception.
I dont know if they setting it up for a movie - I sure hope not. Like I said in a previous post, I do wish the finale was more than an hour just to allow for everything to end on the same level as it was developed. I dont want the episode to feel rushed.

Oh and Guzzy, I live in California... not on the Eastern time zone and I certainly dont have any stolen satellite feeds.
Grab a brain - youre the one that opened up this thread... what the heck were you thinking?
